For what it's worth (cue someone saying my opinion ain't worth shit.... and it probably ain't: this IS the internet), I think the whole Johnnie Czech thing is way harsh.

I found his anti- reunion statements fair and relatively mild compared to the mindless, repetetive "Joey sucks" type bullshit others spout and I NEVER considered it trolling! Not by a long shot. (For the record, I'm not pro- or anti reunion, I'm Pro-Thrax).

Take it eeze Johnnie, hope you come back, I had fun reading your posts.... whether I agreed with them or not.

No wat! I run a board and I have never deleted or edited anyones post! Given we have about a third of the traffic as this place. But I would like to think I will never do it unless it is extremely necesary.

I think it's sad on the band's part, or Brent's part, whoever does it, that they have to go and delete posts that are negative towards the band. Big deal so fucking what. How does anyone expect to have a message board and not have people talking negative shit on it??? If ya can't handle it, get rid of the fucking message board, let people pay their money for the fucking CDC and go there and talk about everything in a positive light, ya know if the people are gonna pay for it, they're not gonna fork over the cash just to bitch. Johnny is a great guy and is entitled to his opinion and should be entitled to post any views he or anyone else has. I understand the reunion is about 1 year along, but just as there are people who are excited about it still, there are people who are also pissed still. Nobody is asking anyone to change their views on it, but to delete posts because it isn't sucking up to the band and saying what they want to hear just seems wrong.

This is gonna probably get me kicked out of here, too - but someone's gotta say it.

Brent, I think you are wrong in this case.

So Johnnie posted a link to an article critical about the reunion. Big fucking deal. I didn't read Bob Mayo's article, but last I remember about Johnnie's post, it didn't say anything nasty about any of the band members or you in particular. So why react with such hostility? Jesus Christ, it's just a fucking opinion. It's not like anyone threatened a member of the band. (THAT I would have understood being deleted, much like the porn.)

Whether someone agrees with the reunion or not, they've got a right to express their opinion. Yeah, I also get tired of "Joey vs. John" threads - I happened to like both eras of Anthrax - but as long as there's some thought put into the arguments, I like reading 'em from time to time, even if I think one or the other side is more full of shit than a chemical toilet at Woodstock.

I also respect the business decisions that Scott, Charlie and company are trying to make in order to keep Anthrax going - let's not forget that music is, sadly, a business, and these guys do what they do to feed their families and keep a roof over their heads. In the end, what I care about is whether the music is good or not - not who's behind the microphone, guitar, bass, etc.

I still think the best solution is kinda like what Yes did in 1991 - get all the old members back for one big release. (Okay, so Union sucked - I think a "Super-Thrax" would kick ass.)

Hey, I know how difficult it is to keep a website running - I did it for seven years while trying to balance work (sometimes two jobs) and family life. So I do appreciate what you do as a moderator of this board. But to expect everyone to just express happy thoughts and not show any original thought - sorry, but that Utopia just ain't gonna fuckin' happen. Going off on Johnnie like that was akin to a pissing contest - and in the end, everyone on this board is getting drenched.

You wanna ban me for expressing my opinion, fine. You choose to leave me on the board, I'll still be here reading the posts daily. Either way, you're still going to have Anthrax fans who support either Joey or John - and that situation isn't going away just by deleting posts or banning members.
