Kerry King is usually known for his idiotic remarks. I agree with him here though. Sometimes I wish Metallica had all died in a plane crash after the "And Justice for All" tour. :loco:
A lot of people wish Slayer had died in a plane crash after 'Seasons...'.

I'm not one of them, But GHUA and the new one so far, do suck.

Kerry King doesn't really have a right to point the finger at bands who suffer a loss of quality.

However, I guess he has a right to say they can't switch genres and come out smelling of roses. At least Slayer have tried to remain Slayer, even if they've been uninspired in the last few releases. (at least, not inspired in a way I like.)

You need to hear more music, nothing wrong with that, it just seems that you're still relatively new to metal.
this statement is partially true, but i heard a decent amount of metal, but i'm still checking out bands. I'm mostly a tharsh kid that hates slayer but loves nevermore (but they aren't really thrash in my book, but still they are my favorite band). And still no matter how much more metal i'm exposed to, metallica will still be in my heart. I'm actually excited about the new metallica album, because it sounds decent, the new song at least.

metallica defence #18 :loco:

heard it live last night for the first time. i was blown away. it sounds amazing.

yes, jeff should do the soloing. kerry does sound like he just beats his hands against the guitar for the soloing, but thats what thrash is supposed to sound like.

and live slayer kills metallica any day.

Slayer sucks shit. I hate them, their generic riffs, sloppy solos, laughable lyrics, and all their smelly poor hygine inbred hoosier fans. I will never go to a concert where Slayer is playing again.
To be fair it was Slayer who started playing those riffs, it's not their fault if every thrash/death band afterwards started copying them and thus turning the style generic. Most metalcore bands steal Slayer riffs and that is one of the most generic styles ever. Heard any Cataract? Swiss metalcore, and every riff is Slayeresque. Same goes for a great deal of Stampin' Ground. 'Slayeresque' is a term for a reason!

But yes, Hanneman > King. Particularly when it comes to solos. But generally, Hanneman writes better riffs, structures and lyrics too.

Lyrically stagnant. I cannot abide the totally idiotic nature of anything Slayer write.

Some fucking cool as hell riffs though.

Metallica > Slayer.

^that statement there, only works if we think pre-black album metallica.

Slayer I've always found to have very identical music in all of their songs except a few. But yes, I will agree somewhat with Kerry King's comments.

How about we stop living in the 80s

Nevermore > Slayer >>>>>>>>> a freshly made turd >Metallica

Its funny, because everyone who give Metallica shit for selling out and changing are mostly the same people who give slayer shit for not changing. Damned if you do, damned if you dont.

Personally I would listen to crappy Slayer than any Metallica.
Wow, you like slayer AND billy milano. You are now the official ultimate metal forum connoisseur of the worst music known to exist.
