I thought Materia was absolutely GOD AWFUL! Especially compared to their earlier releases. I mean, some of the tracks could have been taken straight off a pop album! Get "Classica" instead!

I grabbed it, heard it, need to revisit. I've always been a big fan of O Solitude...this one seems less funeral....will post thoughts after a fair listen.

The soundtrack to "Heat" is also quite breath taking. Doesn't carry much of a "dark" quality though.

I'd say you try and d/l "With Tragedies Adorned" which is by far the doomiest of the bunch. "Plaintive Scenes" is somewhat more operatic, "Frore Meadow" more into the neo-Katatonish shoegazing stuff.
Ask BWD or possibly Erik J. Grahn for complementary advice.
