I think we are going to do Schmidt, Guy, Brooks, me, Vince, Bleull in this room. So, when you Illinois fuckers get $$$, swing some my way to pay for this hizzy. Jeremy's room will likely be Jeremy, David/MortDivine (he has confirmed he is going; just needs to buy airplane tix), Nicole Adams, Grant (if he ends up going), Ananth(?), etc. I got the easier bunch because they're practically all confirmed.

The critical stuff has been dealt with. I will take care of recruitment and collecting payment at a leisurely pace.


And now I'd like to make first mention of some policy to discuss. Andy and I met last night and we agreed that we should enforce a no-illegal-substances policy in the rooms. Now, I'm a regular cannabis-user as any of you, but since I will be responsible and liable for the room I booked, I cannot risk going into higher academia with a criminal record. And aside from that, it's enough that the Tremont tends to turn a blind eye to the fact that multiple rooms that weekend will have an illegitimate quantity of people in them. We shouldn't give them an excuse to not be so clement. Keeping the window open is not good enough. I want to respect the law (even though I disagree with it) and the rules of the establishment as necessary to have a good time and not be worried. We will have copious amounts of alcohol, kickass bands, and awesome friends to make for a fantastic experience. There's no need therefore to enhance that experience at the risk of getting us all kicked out.

If you want to get high, do it in your car, or in another room that's not ours, or, better yet, attend Electric Wizard's set and you'll get it second-hand.

Guy: I would not worry about that. As Jeremy stated, you are more adult than a lot of people going to this thing (not in our group, just in general), so we both trust you with making good decisions and being discreet.

Nicole, just so you know; Laura isn't staying with us... she has booked her own room elsewhere. She will still be partying with us as far as I know, which rules. Also, neither of us knows which room we are organizing yet and it actually does not matter very much in the end, as people end up where they end up. Money can also be freely exchanged between Jeremy and I, which may become necessary as people decide to commit to coming, so it doesn't quite matter who you pay. We'll be keeping accurate records so, like I said, refunds (if we go beyond the estimated dollar amount per capita) can be doled out. Also, like Jeremy said, we'll be straight-up disallowing smoking weed in the rooms; neither of us want to have to do that, but we can't risk it.

I am considering my friend Dan as not coming until further notice. He is down to come if he can, but he may not have a job soon due to his union's contract expiring or something, so he would be unable to either drive or pay. Worst comes to worst, I'm driving myself and other people (Jeremy, Kevin, etc.).

Not sure if Schmidt mentioned it yet, but a few people from his university are attending as well. They booked their own room iirc, but I imagine that they'll probably spend a fair amount of time with us. I can attest to the fact that they're an absolute hoot to party with.
