I like the idea of starting on wednesday and doing a 5-day stay. It's nice to have an extra day to chill and enjoy company before shit gets crazy.

I actually wouldn't mind 'owning' a room if it means we'll have the chance to do that. If there's like at least 2 other people who want to chill on wednesday, i don't mind splitting that part of the bill with just the other wednesday-goers.

That sounds good.

Money is pretty fucking tight with me and I don't know if I'd be able to afford another night in the hotel aside from the Thursday-Sunday deal.

I've been browsing around on the SMNnews forums. Some tickets have been sold, so I'll keep my eye out. if all else fails I'll just get a 3 day pass.

Are you looking for a 4 day pass?

I have another friend who is interested in rooming with us. I am pretty sure he wants to stay Friday-Sunday. I also have the money on hand...
When abouts do you think the rooms will be set up?
If my damn schedule wasn't so crazy I would do it myself.
Let me know! thank you!

Excellent, we need more people at the moment as our outcomes seem a little thin. We want to book but interest seems to be a little waning for some reason this year. Figures. Still pumped.

For anyone concerned, I have a large tax return coming and JB is finally paying me the money back he owes me, so definitely count me in. You can count Bleull, Brooks55, and Guy as well. I'm basically forcing Bleull and Guy to go, and Jon said he'd go he just needs to get a ticket.

I'll contact scumbag JB and see if "the worlds biggest piece of shit" has enough money left over from his latest spice run. Vince said he's down to go as well, so I guess that is 5 so far?

But I do suggest that we start booking the rooms soon, as the Tremont fills up fairly quickly. They will NOT charge you until after your stay, and if you want to clarify that, give them a call.

Check the internet sites first to see if you can get a lowered rate, but why Wednesday night? The fest doesn't start until Thursday night.

To make sure we get there for the Thursday show. Though I guess we could just leave way early on Thursday.

EDIT: Holy shit an extra night there is expensive. Alright, so if we do Thursday through Sunday (incl. Sunday night), I need about 250 bucks from each person IF AND ONLY IF we get 8 people per room (that's 16 persons total!). If we can get more (10?) per room, we will be down to about 200 a person. LET'S DO THIS.

EDIT AGAIN: Jeremy and I are going to attempt to get together tonight to work on planning this in person. Hopefully the weather doesn't take a shit on New England so we can actually, y'know, do this. BUT, I think so far I have counted a little over 8 people (myself, Jeremy, Nicole, Schmidt, Guy, Brooks, Bleull, Dan [hopefully], Kevin Young, Grant), which means enough for one room plus the start of a second room. I'm surprised at the lack of discussion of this year's MDF, and I'm hoping it will be as successful for the UM-MDF chapter as it has been in past years (discounting the allegedly horrible things happening last year). Maybe it'll actually be a little comfy... nah.

(discounting the allegedly horrible things happening last year).

Sex, drugs and heavy metal.

None of that was horrible in retrospect. What I do want to stress this year is maintaining the "Chill Room"'s status as, you know, A CHILL ROOM. I don't want French Canadians barging in at 5 AM when I want to sleep a little.

Jesus, did the Tremont raise it's prices again. I had like 9 people staying in our room and the total was only like $120 per person. Fuck me in the ass.

The Tremont know very well what it stands to gain from this event, which has become nationally-popular. It also knows well that people will continue to pay higher prices to maintain the convenience of using a hotel so close to the event.

Dude I can't wait to meet you guys. You're going to be so disappointed when you find out I have no social skills IRL.

Andy, which suite are you trying to book? When I go to the website's page, it's giving me a total of ~$870 after taxes for a queen suite with a bedroom, which is closer to what it was when I booked a room in 2010. Granted, this is only with one guest, but the price doesn't go up that much when you add a person or two. I think you're looking at the two-bedroom king suite. I suppose I'm fine with that, but the other rooms are considerably cheaper.

Edit: I'm also getting really, really fucking psyched for this if not only to meet up and engage in retarded behavior with you fine people. The bands will be p. cool too.

Only pussies would refuse to drive to Lowell tonight. It's on.

Also, I keep having MDF dreams where we have all these adventures but end up seeing next to none of the bands. I won't take it as portending anything...

I'm getting the same totals as well for the "One Bedroom Suite King" which has the separate bedroom and kitchen and shit.

Edit-->If interested, the Holiday Inn Express is actually slightly closer to MDF than the Tremont and considerably cheaper, but they aren't suite-style rooms. There doesn't seem to be as many food places near the hotel. There is also a Sleep Inn, but that appears to cost even more than the Tremont.
