This forum is really starting to get me down. Some of the things I love in life: playing guitar, listening to music, reading, slowly getting drunk with lifelong friends and talking about music.

Nothing about using an anonymous discussion forum has any correspondence to that. Wading through page after page of suffocating drivel and obnoxiousness is sapping my will to live. No disrespect to anyone trying to make a go of the forum but what's the point? So many people here would just as gladly read your post as click through to a YouTube of you blowing your own head off. On this site it's so often that the empty can rattles the most. Bah, I'm going back to doing stuff I actually like, the only justification for coming here is killing time at work.

I completely agree with you. However I realise that you are probably aiming that rhetoric at me to a large extent. What you probably don't get is that I refuse to entertain some idiot pretending to know what they are talking about that can't accept that they are clearly our of their league. Also making a go of a forum in my opinion doesn't include posts about "my opinion is right yours is wrong and everything you like is gay because you are a noob". You can read through every post I have ever written on this forum and you won't find a single one where I say "I know more than you therefore my taste in music is right and you are a noob", also you would notice that I have never called anyone gay or insulted anyone's mother or made any arbitrary assumptions for the sake of making an idiotic insult where I lack a better argument. The fact I think certain people are complete fucking idiots comes down to the fact that they probably did do one of those things and still expect to be taken seriously.

I've just noticed that, that
stereotype has manifested itself
into quite a few threads.

Having the internet has become
like a technological advent in
our household only recently, so
naturally I haven't got much to
show for myself as far as posting
is concerned.

But I'm quite pleased to say that
I've liked Opeth for a number of
years now, MAYH and Morningrise
being established as my long term
favourites at this point, although
having said I virtually like everything
else too :loco:

So in all in all, a fairly pointless post... nevermind
