But I'm looking forward to an album from Kataklysm, my favorite death metal band.

RUSH Guitarist To Guest On New PORCUPINE TREE Album - Dec. 10, 2006

According to a posting on the RUSH fan site Power Windows, PORCUPINE TREE magazine Carbon Nation reports in its latest issue that RUSH guitarist Alex Lifeson and KING CRIMSON's Robert Fripp will guest on the PORCUPINE TREE's next album, currently set for release next April via Atlantic Records. Lifeson and RUSH drummer Neil Peart have both expressed their appreciation for the progressive rock band, and engineer/producer Paul Northfiled has also worked with the two acts.

RUSH is currently working on its new studio album with producer Nick Raskulinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, STONE SOUR, SHADOWS FALL).
 
Novembers Doom, Porcupine Tree, Dan Swano(White Darkness-Nightingale), Dark Tranquiliity, Opeth, King Crimson, Blackfield. And anything at all from; Enslaved, Agalloch or Negura Bunget. Oh, Fuckety, Fuck Fuck Fuck, How could I forget--Katatonia.

hehe, have ya heard light the torch? ;) the only gothenburg-ish band I enjoy when they go on the heavy side of things are old Carnal Forge. Firedemon and Please Die are so in your face its insane. When it comes to The Haunted, the riffage is euro and supbar but Dolving still makes it good. I love that mans voice and attitude.
 
Well, its very good for being so At The Gates-influenced. Its more the fact that I dont hold that sort of sound in a high regard. The Björlins can shit out those fast melodic songs by the busload
 
One Kill Wonder is boring. I still enjoy the other cds though. But please...I wish Slaughter Of The Soul was never released. How can a band go from some technical death metal...some of the best, then make this accessible gothenburgy melodic crappy happy shit? Not to mention it influenced some of the worst bands in this decade...ex: the whole American Metalcore scene..ugh.

Sometimes I wish nu-metal stayed.
