Right well I've been in to get a 'couple' of fillings recently (To be more precise my dentist had to set up 5 seperate appoinments to do the lot!). Anyways after waiting for a half hour after my supposed 'appointment time', and spending an hour in the chair twiddling my thumbs and not being overly conversational (it's hard to talk when your heads rattling form the drill), I decided to bring in some 'entertainment' for the next appointment. The Dentist was kind enough to let me listen to some 'soothing music' while she was going to town on my molars. Thankfully I was rather reserved, and no headbanging ensued (Phew).

Anyone else think of sime highly inapproriate times that they've though about or have listened to Opeth or heavy metal music in general?

Some examples might include:

Getting bored at a child care centre and taking over the TV with the playstation (that was playing a Barney Video) to 'hook up some tunes'.

At a morgue, while lying in one of those slidey tray things that holds the bodies (Might give some people the wrong idea).

P.S. Three more appointments to go, remind me I'll have to swap CD's for the next visit, mabey some BWP would be more suitable.....

What? You were listening to Opeth at the
dentist's?!!!!!! Hoho! Hehe....

How the hell could you do that? I dunno,
I need to hear what's going on, or maybe
this person truly fucks up my teeth! Hehe...
I need as much control as I can possibly
get sitting in that chair >:oP

To answer your question, I really have no
idea, but just don't listen to music when
at the dentists >:oP Hehe...

Well, I wouldn't put on Opeth or any other
metal in a funeral/wedding or any sort
celebration thingie if the people there
aren't into that kind of music...
Just out of respect I guess :o)

Last week I had a work lunch on and offered to give my boss and a few others a lift...little did they know I'd have Opeth blasting all the way  My boss wasn't too impressed but fuck him I say. I'm changing teams next week anyways :p

So you'll be 'Playing for the other side' then......?

What made you decide on the sex op?

I''m sorry to dissapoint blackspirit, but with three more hour (or more) sessions to sit through, it's either Opeth or trying to play my GBA while they work (you pick which one would go down better)

Sometimes I take 'fatalism', for want of a better word, a bit too far. It's not like if I hear an earth shattering crack while on the chair, I'll stop to tell the dentist they're doing it all wrong (With the drill still in my mouth). If they're gonna fuck up, there's nothing I can do about it till AFTER the fact. AND believe you me, they'd cop more than a mouth if they screwed up my purdy face!!!:heh:

This Is My MUG......:zombie: ..... ( )

I had Benighted on in the car with my gramps once, and he was like "this is nice". Then I skipped to Serenity Painted Death.....I almost got my inheritence early!    :Smokedev:

for me it would have to be when I am at work...being a navy chief and with lots of "heavies" around me...they don't understand it and think that I am a devil worshiper...

Don't get me wrong, I still play it...but listening to bands like Opeth probably cost me a promotion, seriously. Most of my peers are of the christian faith...and to get the evaluation marks to be promoted has alot to do with being in their "fellowship."

Oh well...

I try to keep the volume down at work. Waaaay down. My boss has already given me the :err: look a few times when he could hear the growls.

"Slave under my creed."

There isn't any inappropriate time - I listen to Opeth whenever the hell I want - really. Work, home, car - doesn't matter to me.

Now others may think it's inappropriate for me to listen - but I have yet to be told by my boss, my mother/father, any passenger in the car, that I shouldn't be listening to Opeth. So until that time - Opeth away!!!!

That's so corrupt, that just pisses me off, it shouldn't be like that, but there's nothing you or anyone can do about it, damnit.

Being too depressed its a very inapropiate time to listen to opeth...if you value life.

i agree, after recently breaking up with my girlfriend of two years, it was pretty hard to listen to opeth for a while
