Most universally hated genre of music?

I don't know. I love classical personally but I think theres still some hate for it out there.

I find myself somewhere between the two, I would like to get into it but it's quite a daunting task. It tends to be just the odd composer that really stands out to me, almost at random and other similar composers wont do anything for me at all. I love Scriabin, Saint-Saens, Satie but can't find any consinstancy with the styles i like, though I lean towards the impressionists.

I'm a big contemporary classical, post-classical and neo-classical fan though, Artists like Sylvain Chauveau, Chaz Knapp, Olafur Arnolds and Johann Johannssonn. Would be interested to know if anybody else here is into these genres.

I'm a big fan of Steve Reich, Terry Riley, John Adams and Philip Glass, and to a lesser extent, Arvo Part, Morton Feldman, Schubert, Schumann, and Stravinski.

that said, i think the genre that has the least fans, the most haters, and enough people who actually know about it to make an accurate judgement is.... i dont know.

i'll defend goregrind as a contender. it has absolutely no value to 99% of humans. it is less than 30 years old, is vulgar, is not melodic, is not virtuostic instrumentally, and is generally unpleasant to listen to.
