Movie tread

last week i saw Robin Hood with Russel Crowe. Didn't like it at all, a typical guys' flick, as many of Russel Crowe's films. Cate Blanchett as Lady Marion was a terrible choice (as it was with Galadriel).

yesterday i saw Season of the Witch with Nicolas Cage and Ron Perlman (Hellboy actor). It was pretty cool actually, mainly because of the special effects. One just shouldn't focus on the storyline (because it was rather pointless). Nicolas Cage and Ron Perlman pull a good job on their respective characters. All in all, it was like an episode of Supernatural with aged Sam and Dean in the 14th century settings which i found rather enjoyable, being a huge fan of Supernatural

But you DO know who's in that movie, don't you?

I'll give you a clue:

It's that guy.

Just finished Wilderness, which conclude the Michael J. Bassett films for now.
Not the type of film I'd usually go for, a group of juvenile delinquents get sent to an island to "grow some character", and then gets slaughtered of one by one by an unknown assailant.
It looked a bit cheaper than Deathwatch and Solomon Kane, but again mr. Bassett did an amazing character job, which got me involved in the movie even with its simple plot. Real nice acting from the kids for the most part as well. Good film, but not his best. Still, nice to see he can vary his style a lot, makes me look forward to Silent Hill 2 even more...

I'm a big fan of the BBC Earth documentaries. But what I want to ask, does anyone know the artist and title of the song in the background? Nice waking up music, haha!

recently i've watched:

Clash of the Titans - simply awesome!! :kickass: the best movie based on the Greek mythology i've ever seen in my life! Of course they have changed the original myth about Perseus quite a bit, but in this exceptional case it only benefited! They have intertwined several different myths into one cool story that blends together very well, and gave a good purpose to otherwise rather pointless quest of Perseus... The most awesome things in this movie were Medusa and the Kraken. Medusa looked *exactly* like i have depicted her in my mind since my childhood, it's such a great feeling to see your mind image come to life like that on the screen! And i have never thought that Kraken was sooooo huge! gargantuan!! Very impressive!
oh, and i always thought that Pegasus was white...

Prince of Persia - quite good. I'm no geek and never played the game so i don't know how the story goes, but i found the film enjoyable to watch.

Trolljegeren - Not really kind of movie i like to watch but the norwegian scenery is breathtaking! :worship: It was also funny, a bit scary and a cool story. It was pretty convincing too :D I think my bf now believes in the conspiracy of the norwegian government and that there are actually trolls in Jotunheimen

Predators - not kind of movie i enjoy watching either, but i found it better than all the other Predator movies i've seen. Quite unexpected appearance of Adrien Brody and Morpheus of Matrix as cold hearted hunters. :) The settings on another planet gives the story an extra depth of desperation.

127 Hours - Awesome movie, gotta give respect to Aron Ralston who actually had to experience that hellish scenario.
Trolljegeren - I found it strange to see all the familiar scenery. I felt like I had been everywhere in that movie. I think it was a bit strange that they used a couple famous comedians/actors in a Blair Witch-mockumentary style movie. Okay movie, pretty good judging by a Norwegian standard.

127 Hours is excellent, IMO it should've won the Oscar for best music. Aron Ralston became my hero, you've got to have balls and intellect to survive like that. And the original videos are on Utube.

So, I've been in a real Charlie Chaplin kick lately...never realized how amazingly good The Great Dictator is...

Ja :) .

I saw

"Max Manus", a movie based on the person of the same name.

I always love these "side-stories/battles" to the main battles in WWII because it shows how big a change a small group of people or a single person can make. It also has some scenes on the Finnish war, one that, I guess, is neglected in most books (it being overshadowed by WWII). It's a really good movie, lots of suspense and drama, most recommended.

Has an 81% in Rotten Tomatoes, I'd give it an 85.

You should check out the Danish film 'Flammen & Citronen' (The flame & the lemon, word by word translation, don't know if it is the actual English title) then. Haven't seen it yet myself, but it has had some good ratings and people speak well of it.

Lately I've seen:

Nightmare in Las Cruces. Documentary about the massacre of 7 people in a bowling, back in 1990. 2 Guys shooted those 7 people, killing 4 of them with headshots. Victims' ages: 2, 6, 13 and 32 (or so).

Dead Poets Society.

The Trial: very standard story: a laywer who lost all his family tries to kill himself but a call saved him, forcing him to take another case and try to find a reason to live. The final was so rushly done, a shame. Still, decent movie.

The Rite: Great acting, especially Hopkins. Not very scary but entertaining nonethless.

"Flammen & Citronen", funny title. I'll download it.

I've downloaded "Cannibal Holocaust", not sure if I'll be able to stomach it. Saw "Caligula", not very good, too much porn for my taste haha. Also say "My name is Khan", awful Bollywood film, had to actually go to my room because I couldn't stand it.

Cannibal Holocaust is a classic. It's not really gruesome but it's funny.

Yesterday I saw I spit on your grave. The start is kinda slow but it progresses quite well, giving some nice deaths. Recommended for someone who likes to see rape, blood and creative tortures - nothing THAT explicit anyway.
