My Concerts For This Year So Far...

Dude really does has a great voice, he's just missing that extra "something." He's technically sound and all, though. The show was plagued with technical issues all night (broken guitar strings and the like) so I don't know if it was just the way the sound guy handled the mix, but his voice wasn't very powerful. I thought it was just the sound, but then when they did "Out ta get me" and the song Lemmy sang on the first solo record with the bass player singing, his voice was way more powerful.

It was a great show, and my first time seeing Slash in concert since 1991.

here is them doing Civil War from that show...

I've always been a fan of Slash. However, he lost me around the time Velvet Revolver came out with their second album. The album wasn't anywhere as strong as the first. Not that the first was all that. That album with a host of singers had good songs but the album failed to deliver as a whole probably because of the host of singers.

Nothing personal with Myles Kennedy, but he doesn't do it for me. I wish Slash had gone with Corey Taylor for Velvet Revolver. I think it could have worked.

I wouldn't mind checking out this show. Aren't they in a public dispute?

Yeah, they did a little shit-talking onstage a few days ago in Detroit. Saturday's show went on without a hitch though. I wouldn't be surprised if this tour gets changed or cancelled.

^Great post! My thoughts exactly word for word.

Nah, they both like money too much. :p

To me Manson from '96 to '01 is even better than White Zombie, but yeah Rob could tour just as successfully and make the same or more money without Manson today. Manson has really fallen ever since he started firing all the band members.

Couldn't agree more! Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals, to me, are better than anything Rob/White Zombie ever released. Again, just my opinion.

Today, I like both acts about the same, but Manson needs to solidify a lineup that can actually do the material justice.

Also, cutting back on the booze wouldn't hurt either.

Just got back from seeing UFO. They killed! It was my first time seeing them and I would see them again. Great musicians playing well written songs.

I'm going to see The Who tonight in what will be my last concert for the year.

I'm already looking at next year, but I doubt I'll go to as many shows in 2013. It just gets so expensive. Maybe one show a month would be ok.

The Who...

Wow! What a show! They played Quadrophenia all the way through, then played some of their biggest hits.

Obviously, Roger Daltrey's not a young man anymore so I didn't expect his voice to be perfect. However, his voice has held up better than certain other singers who aren't even his age yet (David Lee Roth, Paul Stanley...).

Pete still plays great, but he's got some help now with his brother Simon.

Even if you took Pete and Roger out of this group, you would still have a very talented band. I wouldn't be surprised to see them continue on as a new band once The Who call it quits permanently. Simon actually has a great singing voice.

Great show to end the concert year on, I'll never forget it. In fact, I'll never forget this year in general. 21 shows! Had fun at all of them, even the ones where I got sick.
