My Concerts For This Year So Far...

Ok, I felt a little better so I went to the show. So glad I did! The crowd was nuts!

2 opening bands, Haarp and Warbeast. I didn't know them, but they were pretty good.

Anthrax / Testament/ Death Angel at The Vic...

WOW! What a show! This concert reaffirmed my love for Anthrax!

First, Death Angel. They seemed to be just warming up when their set ended. I had never seen them before, but I would see them again in a heartbeat. Funny side note, I bought a Death Angel t-shirt. It has a soldier with the phrase "Bay Area Metal" on his chest. The "B" looks a lot like a "G".

Second up, Testament. Alex is an amazing player and Chuck Billy seemed to be having the time of his life up there! The last time I saw Testament was waaaay back in 1990 opening for Megadeth. I won't wait that long to see them again!

And finally, Anthrax. What a set! In My World (my favorite Anthrax song!), Be All, End All, and lots of stuff from Worship Music.

I think my favorite part of any concert is watching the crowd. This crowd did not dissapoint. A couple of fights, lots of moshing and crowd surfing, got a hug from a pretty girl who I'll most likely never see again, and I ran into an old friend in the parking garage after the show.

All in all, one of the most fun shows I've been to this year!

Holy shit mikey, I was at Crüe/kiss and thrax on Thursday. I bought the medusa shirt.

I almost bought that one. Ended up buying the one with the dude with the gas mask. I didn't see the WM album cover shirt.

Great shows though, eh?:Smokin:

Yep. The only time I saw anthrax that wasn't great was with Joey Vera in the band. His playing was up to snuff for sure but he is no frank when it comes to the energy.

2004 at Club 160? I think that was the name. Joey did fine, but he plays a different style than Frank and you're right about the energy. Frankie's crazy up there!

Crowd was nuts that night too!

was it 04? I remeber it being oasis 160 but I think I saw them there a second time with frankie around the we've come for you all tour.

Revocation is one of my new favorite bands now. They blew me away on that Children of Bodom tour earlier this year.

Anthrax was a fucking blast 2 nights ago in Montreal. The crowd was nuts all night long, and during the usual stopping for the war dance parts in Indians Scott told us something like "I usually stop this song because the crowd isn't moving enough, but you guys are fucking nuts. This time I stop it because I wanted to thank you, Montreal, you are awesome !". I was sad that lately they had dropped N.F.L. for Be All End All (not that I don't like the song, it's great). But N.F.L. has to be in my top 5 Anthrax songs ever. So what a surprise when they started the encores with it , I lost it :D

Also In The End is an amazing song, so emotionnal.

Congrats on the boys for an amazing show ! (Testament & Death Angel were great too)

setlist:

Worship (intro)
Fight 'Em Til You Can't
Caught in a Mosh
Antisocial
Indians
Hymn 1 \ In the End
The Devil You Know
Deathrider
In My World
Be All, End All

encores:

Efilnikufesin (N.F.L.)
Got the Time

Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg at The Bottom Lounge...

Good show, even if it was basically a Ramones tribute show. Everything was cool up until the second oncore when it became the "Michale Graves show". Graves threw a hissy fit and threw someone out of the building. Kind of brought the whole positive vibe down.

Anyway, overall I had fun. Marky Ramone played his ass off all night. Must be a hell of a workout for a guy his age to play like that. Unfortunately, this is the closest I'll ever get to seeing the Ramones even though there were technically no original members. Glad I went.

Only show I went to this year was Slash w/ Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators at HOB Cleveland 2 weeks ago. Pretty good show, the opening band Foxy Shazam was strange.

I haven't seen Slash since Snakepit opened for AC/DC over a decade ago. How was Kennedy's voice live?
