New Metallica song "Day That Never Comes"

lol sounds like a bunch of nickelback panzies entered the tread. waaah song is too long, waaah random guitar riffs, waaah *inserts load cd*.

gtfo, Metallica has always been known for this and I'm glad they are returning somewhat to their roots.

:heh: :kickass: :headbang:

Without this thread turning ugly, I can appreciate the longer Metallica songs of old. Its not the length per se that I have the problem with - its the fact that it feels like a load of riffs thrown on top of each other. Older Metallica songs progress through the riffs instead of just dropping a new one in for the sake of it. I can very happily listen to ..And Justice For All and I rate that album pretty highly (as well as the 2 before it, all of which have a number of "long" songs).
.

I disagree. The older albums to me sound like a bunch of riffs strung together too. I see no problems with it, that's just what I expected from Metallica.

EDIT.
NICKELBACK writes hits dude. Don't hate until you reached their level of cashflow.

Won't contest your opinion, at least for me I can hear a difference :kickass:

EDIT: and I have nothing bad to say about Nickleback, it takes a lot more than luck to reach the sucess they have. Like their music or not they are immensely talented and are definitely doing something right.

Nickelback panzies? Where do you get off calling anyone that when this is your first post in this forum? And by the way, learn to spell and use punctuation/grammer, then maybe you wouldn't come across as a little kid who doesn't even have hair on his nuts yet. Lord Lemon is right.

Edit:- Sorry if this fucks anyone else off, I just hate people coming in here and spewing shit when they've only been here 5 minutes.

That's cool. AND the Nickleback thing wasn't at you.

BACON AT EVERY MEAL MATTERS!

See, because of Metallica this is why this forum can't have nice things!!!! I just bought that "Metallica 26 Year Commemorative Plate", and the forum has to go and break it with its squabbling.

I am still not sure about the sound of those drums. Clipping seems to be the buzz word for this album, though. Maybe they are meant to be this way.

The clipping in the MetClub release was intentional. I got a buddy who works at a local radio station and he compared the copy sent to them, and the radio version is nice and clean.

Does anyone else hear major autotune on the verse vocals? :puke:

Wow that's soooo cool of Metallica to give the registered fans at mission metallica a mastered version of a track run through another L2 :p

Besides that it's just recycled old Metallica riffs and ideas and all thrown into one song at once... Gets REALLY funny during the "weird solos" :D

And at the beginning the harmonies on the guitar, they actually do sound a lot like Iron Maiden... First thing I thought of.

Well, now that they played the song four times on the radio at work, it's definitely sounding more and more like they combined two old songs (Bleeding Me for the first part, One for the second part) and just changed the riffs to lifeless similar-sounding-riffs like you hear in those cheapo documentaries that feature no official material and no actual band members are interviewed.
