New to PP

Welcome to the family, DGIRL!! Other than the general awesomeness of ProgPower like Rider of Theli and AMBR have mentioned, you can expect to wish you brought more money, better shoes, more snack foods to share with your friends at the all-night afterparties, and a liver made of steel :tickled:

One hint, get there early and go straight for the table selling the event shirts. These sell out quickly, especially some of the smaller sizes, and after the weekend is over you're going to wish you had one :)
Sh0kr0k is right on, especially about wishing you brought more money.
Also, not just the event t-shirts sell fast. Other than the bands selling their merch, there is generally only one vendor there that sells girls shirts and he generlly only beings about 3 or 4 or each style. So if you're looking for a shirt of a band who is not playing the festival get to his table quick (like I do) or you might miss what you were looking for.

Except a lot of drunk metalheads
But not the asshole kind of drunk metalheads... the kind that want to drink with you, sing with you, drink with you some more, and bang their heads with you ... oh yeah and drink with you some more. Haha! You'll meet a lot of awesome new friends and I hope to be one of them. :kickass:
This will be my third ProgPower and I still feel that I haven't gotten to meet enough of the ladies of metal who attend ProgPower each year. I'm staying at the Best Western (where most of the bands stay, from what I understand) so if anyone wants to meet up or party hard before or after any of the shows I'll be there Thursday through Sunday when I'm not at Earthlink. Hope to me you and many other new friends, DGIRL. :headbang:

DGRIL, you more than welcome to hang out with us if you want, by us i mean most of the members of the NIGHTMARE/PYRAMAZE STREET TEAM, and such.

Thank you all so much for the kind welcome. Cannot wait to meet all of you! You'll be able find me. After years of joking with everyone in the Evergrey chatroom telling them to wear "Dgirl Rocks":headbang: Tshirts to every function, I just might have to wear one! HAHAHA And if by chance you find me curled up in a corner in the fetal position :zombie: comatosed from excellent music, alcohol and unable to speak clearly...please just do a girl a favor and pick me up and at least face me towards the stage!

However after reading some of these posts...I must say I'm a little scared! HAHAHAHA (Maybe just a little afraid of the Finn and possibly Glenn too *What says metal more than Hawaiian shirts and flip flops?*At least I wouldn't be the only one at a Buffett concert headbanging to Margaritaville* hehehe)

Thanks Again!!! :kickass:

Totally there for ya man, but I'm still counting on your for the Drag N Drop Service. Drag my drunk ass to the hotel and drop me off in my room :tickled:

Wait, I thought you were totally there for me !!!!!!! Hehe

You can expect to see a crazy short chick running around grabbing all the other hot chicks :)

Nobody warned her of the aftermath did they?

YOU'LL COME HOME BROKE, AND TAKE ON A PART-TIME JOB TO BUILD THE PROGPOWER FUND FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR, BECAUSE IT'S SUCH AN ADDICTION.

There is another way to put this.

Price of Pre-Party ticket- $20
Price of Festival ticket - $104
Price of airfare - $200 - $500
Price of hotel - $200 - $400
A chance to be at the world's PRIEMIER Metal Festival - PRICELESS

Ok, I know this post is a dangerous one.(But it is a serious post!) After years of Pollution yelling at me to go to PP, I bought tickets for this year. (Not to mention the fact that I would not miss out on this fabulous oppurtunity to see EG) Just curious all in all what I should expect?! :kickass:

Expect to enjoy the best run PROG and POWER METAL Fest the USA has ever seen... Expect to meet a lot of very cool people. Basically, expect a GREAT weekend of Metal Meyhem!! :Smug:

Oh and of course, expect to be back NEXT year... :headbang:

Stay away from the Granada Hotel after-show parties. You won't get back(read: find your way back) to your room until 6 in the morning. Then, someone will call you wanting to go get something to eat at the Vortex, but you'll be so hungover that you can barely move...much less eat. Because of your vulnerable state(read: hungover like a bastard), you will be coerced into participating in some rather embarrasing photos involving a pink boa.

...um, not that this has ever happened to me, ever...really...never.

Hey....! I resemble that remark. :saint:

And you didn't look all THAT hungover at the Vortex:

Oh wait.....Maybe you did. Just a little. :erk:

But no one, I repeat, NO ONE made you wear the pink boa. *whistles*

I'm new to Prog Power this year, as well.
Although I have been a prog rocker for a few years now.
I just didn't know about the big show. I am sooo looking forward to it.

DGIRL:

I have been attending since PPIII. Unfortunately, VI didn't happen because my second daughter was due any time near the fest date. I couldn't be happier I decided to attend the previous. It's a great time and you will speak to many, many people while there. All with roughly the same taste in music. a wonderful melting pot of various cultures and regions.

You'll see as the fest draws, there will be members posting thier fashion choices for the nights so you'd recognize them. Walk up...say hi and begin your experience. Beware: Highly addictive and will soon need to be an annual fix for yourself.
