NFL 2010

Just step it up and beat them dang Steelers! No whining!

Sounds like that fumble/recovery call went properly according to the rules, but it also seems like a rule that ultimately caused a wrong outcome. A rule change is probably in order.

San Diego Super Chargers. What a bunch of n00bs. Stupid mistake after stupid mistake. Rivers is still great, but is surrounded by an ever changing cast of characters. I thought for sure they would win this game... until it started. Then we had a chance, but did not pull it out, as has been the norm these days. No pun intended.

The Chargers sure have a tough time this year. They do turn around but this season just doesn't look right for them.

Apparently Romo somehow plays on the defense as well, because they looked like shit after he got knocked out. I went to bed at halftime, Kitna isn't a horrible backup by league standards, but he isn't mobile and the Giants front four is playing much better this year than last year.

I'm sorry to break it to you, but at the moment, the AFC is pretty substantially superior to the NFC right now, and there are no encouraging signs of that changing too substantially. The only legitimate contenders in the NFC are the Giants, Falcons, and Saints, and maybe the Packers if they can overcome injuries. Possibly the Eagles. It can easily be argued, however, that the top 5 teams in the league are all in the AFC (some combination of Steelers, Jets, Patriots, Ravens, Colts, Titans, Texans).

Somewhat good news for the Steelers on the injury front, Aaron Smith might not be done for the year. He had surgery on his triceps and it turned out to be a partial tear, which was successfully repaired. Hopefully they can get him back for the playoffs. Brett Keisel, LaMarr Woodley, and Flozell Adams could all potentially play next week.

Saying superior is just plain stupid, better? maybe right now, but not even close to superior, lol. Talk to me at the end of week 11 when all the byes are over. It is WAY too early to elect any teams top 5. You'll be calling half of those teams over-rated and/or not as good as you previously thought.

Better is superior and vice versa, in this instance. I also made it abundantly clear that I'm speaking of right now and that I see no major signs right now that the NFC will be even with the AFC come playoff time. The 3 AFC teams with 5 wins have had a bye week. The 1 NFC team with 5 wins has not. The NFC has no 1 loss teams. The AFC has twice as many teams as the NFC with 2 losses or less. The AFC leads the NFC head to head 17-12. The AFC has the top 6 teams in net points. These are all superior numbers as they stand right now. The AFC is superior to the NFC right now.

17-12 is not superior. 20-9 would be.

As far as wins go, it is much to early to determine a teams identity and/or quality compared to the next according to match-ups and/or wins, because there haven't been enough match-ups/looks to make an absolute statement(like superior).

Stats can be telling if you use it as a tool but stats have always been deceiving.

Again, talk to me after after week 11, and we will go over those little stats again.

What part of "right now" are you having difficulty understanding? You can determine almost anything "right now", that doesn't mean the results will be the same 2 months from now. Either way, I really don't care what word you use to describe the fact that the NFC is not as good as the AFC right now. And 17 wins out of 29 games is a pretty good sample size. Also, the division leaders in the AFC are 7-0 against the NFC. The division leaders in the NFC are 4-4 against the AFC.

I have no problem with "right now" because that is the part in which we agree. I do however have a problem with your comparison between better and superior and the context you are using them

Superior is not just better. You would never say or hear anyone say "this team is a little superior" No, because superior is extraordinary, not just better.

right now, the AFC is a little better than the NFC.
