NFL 2010

Amazing game tonight for the Packers. Being able to keep on going after that massive fumble off the bat and the kick off return for a TD is something few teams can achieve. The momentum stun at the end of the half / beginning of the third was enough to completely remove the running game from ATL leaving the offensive game in the lone hands of a nervy Ryan.

Packers - Bears NFC Championship would be amazing. Sure, the Bears would be the harder team to beat but I'm still hoping on them to play my Packers.

Another good point. Ryan could take over a game in the regular season, but he clearly wasn't prepared to handle going it alone on the bigger stage, especially against a defense (especially a secondary) of the caliber of the Packers (which I solely credit former Steelers defensive coordinator Dom Capers and former Steelers linebacker Kevin Greene for :p).

Do not count the Seahawks out yet.

A bit too late for that. Of course the "every given Sunday" applies every Sunday, but the Seahawks already had their Sunday last week. The home crowd played a vital role in that game as well, as well as a secondary missing a vital cog. The Bears are a very healthy team to the best of my knowledge, especially defensively, so I fully expect the Bears to handle the Seahawks relatively easily. Packers-Bears and Patriots-Steelers to decide the Super Bowl contenders.

Why people think Rodgers is so great... is something I cant grasp.

From ESPN today "RodgersWatch: We should all take a moment to absorb this one. But my instinct is to suggest that we just watched one of the best postseason performances in a generation. Rodgers completed 31 of 36 passes for 366 yards and three touchdowns, finishing with a passer rating of 136.8. He ran for a fourth touchdown and, by my count, spun out of four would-be sacks with mobility that national observers are only beginning to appreciate. Oh, by the way, Rodgers has now thrown 10 touchdown passes in his first three career postseason games, an NFL record. "

There is just reason. The guy does have more down the road for proving himself, and we will see how that turns out...but he does show potential for growth on top of what he has already done.

Rodgers is every bit as good as the analysts say he is. It can be argued that he's the best in the league. Or at least, in the top three.

Joe Flacco is inept, I was surprised the game was that close. And Dodens, I'm surprised you thought Atlanta was anything special. I don't know if you watched the regular season games they placed against Green Bay and New Orleans, but those were clear indicators of how fragile that offense is.

Hopefully his and Joe Flacco's performances will put a temporary halt on their horrible nicknames (Matty Ice and Joe Cool), because neither of them were able to step up to the moment and utterly choked.

Flacco did play like shit in the 3rd quarter, but in the 4th qtr his team let him down. He had quality passes for what should have been easy touchdowns and 1st downs that his receivers simply dropped. The passes were solid.

And man, do I hate that psycho Ben Roethlisberger. One look at the guy and you can see he's a pathological liar. I think he's an ego maniac and close to a sociopath. And a clear rapist, which we all know.

But, I am easily able to separate my personal feelings from the man's abilities. He is a very very good quarterback, in that he reads defenses well and man, does he have a fucking CANNON attached to his shoulder or what? I was very impressed with his game yesterday.

They didn't o 13-3 because they're not a good football team. But everybody finds out eventually that playoff football is a breed apart from regular season football. Ask Peyton Manning's 9-10 postseason record in contrast to Brady's 14-4 or Roethlisberger's 9-2. I thought maybe the Falcons had matured enough to be able to make that next step into playoff football, but obviously I was wrong. They still have to grow from a collective mental standpoint. Also, having some depth wouldn't hurt. They trotted out a lot of injured guys on the field yesterday because the next guy up was half as good at 100%. Of course, playing the Packers didn't help either. The Packers would be the last time I'd want to play if I was the number 1 seed, because no matter who I played I would have a home game, so the only criteria is the quality of the opponent and that team's momentum. I think they could have beaten the Saints or the Seahawks (they wouldn't have been able to play the Eagles because they would have been the highest seed advancing had they beaten the Packers).

I wouldn't call a ball barely a foot off the ground while you're sliding on your ass an easy catch, especially on a quick throw, and especially to a receiver that was pretty much completely removed from the game by Ike Taylor beforehand. Who's Your Mama, I'm not sure what his excuse was, although Willie Gay had excellent position to defend that pass were he to bring it in anyway.

Well the few I've heard going with the Seahawks blasting on through the playoffs seem to of been shut down finally. Packers V Bears it shall be unless Seattle tastes some major black magic.

Pretty happy with the Bears performance today. They were better than Seattle in all phases and the game wasn't nearly as close as the score suggests. Hard to say anything negative about the offense, aside from that completely inexplicable Matt Forte pass (I'm not going to blame Martz for that; it's a defensible play if he just runs). The defense got a little soft at the end, but desperate teams usually break through eventually, and Hasselbeck is still a good QB.

The Jets already deserve to lose for not coming away with any points after that INT. Just terrible.

Its hard not to see the Pats beating the Jets here, but we will see.

Lets say Pats go to the super bowl;

I can see Either Green Bay or Chicago winning this next weeks game, though I'm leaning in Green Bays direction (largely because I'm a packers fan yes.) however, I can't see Chicago pulling a win over the Patriots, the Packers on the other hand have a decent chance at it.

EDIT : The Jets secondary is doing great against the Pats right now. This will be an interesting one.

The overall progression of the game was not wow. The fact that it happened at all is wow. Very impressive performance by the Jets, executing their game plan very well. Still, they don't instill much doubt in my belief that the Steelers should beat them. The Steelers match up better against the Jets than the Patriots do, and there are always extra variables in matchups between division rivals. I can't recall the last time I was this happy to be wrong.

Exactly, I can't believe anyone who says they expected that game to go as it did without a large dose of doubt at their side.
