NFL 2012

Krig c'mon...They lost to the Chiefs!?
However, The 'Boys losing is more laughable!

So the Pack are "lucky" and good...jeezus just hand 'em the rings!

I can't believe Dak is trying to compare Romo to Brees. Literally incomparable.

There are three ways to judge QBs: SB Wins, Wins, Stats. Quite easily comparable.

SB Wins:

Brees 1
Romo 0.

But lets look at what other amazing QBs have 1 SB win. Dilfer. Williams. Mark Rypien. Brad Johnson. SB wins require a complete team, and you can get by with a game manager. Close, edge to Brees.

Lets look at wins:

Brees:87-61(.588)
Romo:46-26(.639)

Edit: To put it more in perspective, Romo is 16th all time in winning %, Brees is 31st.

Close, edge to Romo.

Let's look at stats:

Brees: Comp.%:65.7 TD/INT ratio: 1.8 TD% 5.0 PYA:7.4 QB Rat: 92.8
Romo:Comp.% 64.1 TD/INT ratio: 2.0 TD% 5.7 PYA:8.0 QB Rat: 95.8

Close, edge Romo.

So ah, where is this "clear advantage to Brees"? The one SB win? Congrats. He can highfive it up with Dilfer as being better than Romo amirite?

Clearly you guys are drinking heavy on the "Haterade".

No OVERWATCH...Doug Williams is better than Romo...because he has the SB win...right?. Don't go there bro. Again, if there is a person in the world who would choose Romo over Brees in a SB game...please let me know. And this come from a Romo detractor that actually has given him some props this year. The man still needs to do alot more before people will even consider him near / over other QB's mentioned.

For the record I actually might take Romo over a Dilfer or Williams if I had to pick one to lead my team in a SB. If that makes you feel any better? lol

Do what? Win the Super Bowl? That's all that is left.

Edit: Lets not forget that while Romo was playing in the Beast, Brees, Brady, and Manning were playing the 3 weakest divisions in the NFL in the '00s.

Why do people still believe the QB rating is an accurate statistic? Also, the Patriots, Colts, and Saints all sucked before Brady, Manning, and Brees. Well, the Patriots weren't THAT bad. But Romo did not come into the system Brees came into. Fucking seriously, stop suggesting Romo is as good as Brees.

How are rings a team stat but wins not?

Consider Brees played on a run first team for the first 4 years of his career then in his first year on the Saints turned a piss poor franchise into NFC South champions and runner ups to the Bears for NFC champions, has been the head of one of the consistently best offenses in the league, and has set the single season accuracy record, is on pace to break the single season yardage record, and could very well set the consecutive games with a touchdown record.

Oh, he's also not a known choker.

OVER, I tried to reason with you...give you the oppurtunity to choose Brees over Romo etc. but all is lost. You are completely dillusional by now saying / adding two words into your argument...Brady and Manning. Yeah Romo was in the beast...the heat of the moment while Brady and Manning never faced the heat right? Brady v Manning, both versing the Jets, Ravens, Steelers et al...yeah thats cupcake city right?

Yeah, the Brees came into Sean Payton's system. Manning benefitted from Tony Dungy's system, Tom Brady is playing for arguably the best coach in NFL history.

The Cowboys sucked for a decade before Romo came in. Got any other arguments?

@Mort: Ok homersauce. Sean Payton came into town with Brees. Payton> Haslett. They went 10-6,7-9,8-8 in their first 3 seasons. In an incredibly weak division. Whoopty do.

The choke tag is amusing as it is inaccurate.

Edit: @ MM You are referencing a handful of games vs the chumpchange they padded stats on? Who is delusional?

AGAIN! Yeah Romo was in the beast lmao!...the heat of the moment while Brady and Manning never faced the heat right? Brady v Manning, both versing the Jets, Ravens, Steelers et al...yeah thats cupcake city right? BTW Dungy and Belichick have benefited more from having thier own respective QB's...both QB's are the system!

How many times? Other than playoffs? And Manning only made it through that gauntlet once. So what is your point.

Romo has 4 games vs Eagles/Giants every year, plus 3 times in the playoffs. The Redskins might not always have been good, but as that is arguably the biggest rivalry in the game, it's always close and unpredictable.

I would much rather have been feasting on the teams like the Bills, Dolphins, Raiders, Jaguars, 49ers etc. twice a year.

Edit: Yeah, Dungy had no success without Peyton right? And Matt Cassell only went 11-5 cause of Brady's magical presence. Whatever dude.

Teams and Coaches go into games fearing what Brees can do. The guy is a fucking machine.

Nobody fears Romo. Talk to any fan going into a game against Romo.....you know the guy can fuck it up at absolutely any given time. Especially in the clutch.

Perception is not reality. If he is such a machine, why hasn't he done more? If he is such a machine, why doesn't he have better stats? More wins? etc etc.

That's not how the NFL works. You should know better than that. Football is the ultimate team game.

PEYTON PROVES THAT.

So does Dan Marino. So does Tom Brady actually, since his SB's were won with field goals. And yet Romo's knock is he hasn't won a SB/ more in the playoffs. Nice doublethink everyone has going on.

The Cowboys under Romo had way more talent than what was available to the other quarterbacks you mentioned when they walked in the door. The second pass he ever threw was a touchdown to Terrell Owens, one of the best wide receivers in NFL history. Julius Jones and Marion Barber at RB, Owens, Terry Glenn, Patrick Crayton, and Miles Austin (as an unsung rookie) at WR, one of the better offensive lines in the league at the time, Chris Canty, Jay Ratliff, Marcus Spears, Jason Ferguson, DeMarcus Ware, Aaron Glenn, Anthony Henry, Terrence Newman, Greg Ellis...the talent differential is remarkable.
