On third listen....

....and the crazy blog rumors begin.

This album is only 8 tracks and just under 38 minutes long. Radiohead isn’t known for brevity.

The album was released 1 day earlier than previously scheduled.

The last song is called “Separator.”

WHAT IF

“Separator” is actually the MIDDLE track in a double-album, the 2nd half of which will be released tomorrow as scheduled.

Also, consider that one of the last lines of Separator is “If you think this is over, you’re wrong”

Also, consider that Separator has been a melody circulating about under the name “Mouse, Bird, Dog” as a live track Yorke played last year. Was the name changed simply to hint at this double album?

Also, The King of Limbs was announced as a “newspaper album,” and that still hasn’t been fully explained. Another song that has been floating around from last year has been “The Daily Mail,” which is a prominent British newspaper. That track is current NOT on the album. It seems to me that it should be, and maybe could appear on a 2nd installment to the album.

(p.s. this album is boss)

 drugs are awesome.

New Radiohead album and video are just garbage. And even if it IS a double album, I just don't care enough. I'm tired of Radiohead and their "innovative" gimmicks. Just make good albums please and spare us the bullshit.

You're not allowed to post here until you talk about the album's "post-dubstep" influence

I dont think anything that Radiohead is doing is at all a gimmick. They are one of the biggest bands in the world and released their last album for free to the public for christs sake. Sure, great marketing is a byproduct of that but it wasn their intention as much as it was a middle finger to The Man.

I dont know anything about Radiohead. I simply think musicians in general take themselves a little too seriously.

"Give Up The Ghost" is already one of my favorite Radiohead tracks. "Lotus Flower" is one of the album's weaker tracks, but, yeah, it's decent. I've spun this thing 10 times now, and can safely say that this is in no way a disappointment, and will very likely end up on my year-end top 10. I think people (unfairly) expect them to re-invent the wheel with everything they release, which is not the case here of course, but you can't really say it sounds like anything else they've ever put out. Anyway, 8.5/10 album.

Just out of curiosity, did the people who dislike TKOL also dislike Amnesiac? That's the closest thing in their catalogue IMO....

I haven't had a chance to give it a good thorough listen yet, but what I've heard on the radio I've liked. Including [ILotus Flower[/I] (even though I can't stop thinking of Opeth everytime I read that title). Gunna give it a good listen after tea.

EDIT: Ok so there's nothing wrong with Lotus Flower at all. Morning Mr. Magpie is my favourite track after first listen, but I really enjoyed Codex, Give Up the Ghost and Seperator also. Little By Little is sounding better on the second listen. I already like this album, but have a feeling it will only get better each time I hear it. Not nearly my favourite Radiohead, and it will not ever be. I wanna see what comes with the 'full package'.
