Official 2011 NON-Metal Thread - Hipsters Unite

Anything compressed to shit which is most stuff outside of jazz/classical these days, sadly.

It's also a factor in the playback equipment. I enjoy a nice balanced, coherent sound. I used to be a huge basshead though. Most people are...turn that bass way up to drown out everything else.

Man, the new Fucked Up album is gonna make every other supposedly "heavy" album released this year laughable. LAUGHABLE, I say!

What he fuck was that shit Aurel?!?! :puke:

I'm gonna make this declaration now: Nothing to be released this year will beat out the new WOBBLER album. I expected it to be great, but not this great! Best prog album I have heard in years.

Lots of Yes influence on this one as the new vocalist is a dead ringer for Anderson. Some GG thrown in, vocal harmonies, scandinavian folk..ya know, WOBBLER. Nice organic sound to boot.

I just listened to the track "The River" on YouTube. HOLY SHIT :worship::OMG:

New Bon Iver album. HMMMMMMMMMM....

Dude, it's that [Wobbler] album that sucks.* This shit is godly.

*still haven't listened

Okay, this [Wobbler]'s pretty good. But DEAR LORD they're ripping off Yes to an almost shameful degree--you can't deny that!

Since they live in Norway, I assumed they just now got Yes.

I'd like this album a lot more if I was still a prog fanboy. Don't know why, but the only stuff I can really stand to listen to anymore is Genesis and KC. This just does nothing for me. :(

maybe something for the happy progsters...

exceperts from Akin's new album The Way Things End. Playful prog rock from France with female vocals (an acquired taste but actually a strong vocalist), quite interesting arrangements and melodies. A very nice, sunny album overall, and the guitarist is a friend of mine so I thought I'd make a post for the sheer beauty of it.
