There was a radish shaped like a heart.

Cutting the heart shaped radish.

I like borscht.

My current work-in-progress...

edit: That piece is like 3 ft by 4ft,btw. Not huge, but it's a good size.

The wood, and the lighting effects on it, look superb. I like the expression on the woman's face, too, whatever the hell she's so cheery about... :) What's with all the random streaks of red, though (I assume they're temporary)?

Ok. Hey, for some reason every time I see your name I think of someone saying "Neurotica is a neurotic bitch!" I don't know why though, I don't think you're a neurotic bitch.:)

Based on what I've seen, Neurotica is one of the least neurotic females I've ever known of.

Hhaha the streaks aren't random at all---but yes they're temporary.
Wow I'm surprised everyone likes this painting so much so far, that's awesome. I guess I'll explain what it's about. Basically it's me exercising myself by putting two figures in a setting in which they are so close and yet are in completely different worlds. They are at the same table but are experiencing opposite emotions of the spectrum. Yes, she's laughing, and the male figure is going to be very melancholy. The table seperates them completely---and yet what a small table it is! So intimate! And yet they're so far away from each other in terms of emotion.

I got the idea from this passage from a book on Norse myths and just sort of went with it and the feelings it gave me:
"Odin did not extend a friendly welcome to the witch
Gullveig when she came to visit him. In his hall the
High One and many other Aesir listened with loathing
as she talked of nothing but her love of gold, her
lust for gold. "

However this painting for me is much more lighthearted and fun than the paintings I did previous to it. Those were a lot more serious in nature and were kind of draining (plus they were huge!) I needed a break. Something more fun. :goggly:
