i hope certain people arent just avoiding this thread and/or signing it because im the one who started it. it seems ive made quite a few enemies on this forum in the time ive been here...and i can honestly say im a bit ashamed about it, and dissapointed for that wasnt my intention.
i know this idea of more freedom in the forum would bring about much more responsibility and work for the mods...which would mean you primarily moonlapse, and though im glad youre all for this cause, i realize a second mod would most likely be in order here...as i can imagine the duty might get to be a bit much for one person to handle.
If thats the case, ill most definitely volunteer my services as 2nd mod, and do the best job i can considering i would be at least partially responsible if things got out of hand. I know some of you would be hesitant to have me as a mod for this forum, most likely because everyone assumes im a troll or some trouble maker. If i have a reputation as such, i guarantee it was all in jest, and most likely because this forum got quite boring due to the lack of topics to be able to produce, and so my input was typically to give a more entertaining or intense atmosphere to what i thought was mediocre conversation/subject matter.
i realize those circumstances do not justify my behavior, and so for that i apologize if i offended anyone...but after some solid personal discovery in this issue, ive realized id much more miss being here and having a good time conversing with fellow opeth fans, than of my blatantly sarcastic or disruptive behavior. and so for that, i have this one request: assuming this petition works, and we get more conversational freedom here...i will stop to the best of my ability my own personal contributions of slander, "smut" and spam...and if elected 2nd mod for this forum, will do my absolute best to keep this place fun, but without absurdity and overbearing cruelty, which is often presented here...by my former self included.
im not an elitest, and i greatly enjoy Opeths music and hope that they have the most success possible...and i realize that by creating friction among fans here, it really doesnt help the band in the long run.

Regarding the added workload, I'm all for it. That's the reason I volunteered for the position, and I suppose people nominated me because they felt I could handle it. After the first few weeks things sort of died down drastically and I'm essentially not needing to do any moderating duties because everybody is following the rules (thanks alot for that guys, very appreciated).
So, seeing as our community is still relatively small, I think even if we allow loosely off-topic matter, it won't become an overburden on the current moderators (myself and Anna) because people here have learned how to stay within the bounds.
If there is a need for another moderator, I'm sure the same electoral procedure will repeat itself and we'll end up with one. The prospect hasn't really crossed my mind, because at the time being, the current moderators are more than enough to cope with this forum. And I'll stress again that this is largely to the community learning to abide by the rules, for which I am *very* grateful.
As for yourself. You've always struck me as a relatively intelligent poster, and I know that you're capable of constructive input into the forum. I hate to pass judgement, but you also strike me as a person who likes to have their cake and eat it, so to speak. I personally don't think, after how you've treated this forum in recent times, that you are deserving of a position of authority, although I have no doubt you would manage one without hassle. But this issue is probably one best discussed at a different time, in a different thread, under different circumstances.
