Opeth re-release of GR+ on June 28 !

can you blame them? i mean, is it RR's fault people buy these things?

Sure you can blame them. they could have done it the other way around.
and release the deluxe version first and the regular version later...so music nerds won't have to buy bothe versions just for the bonuses.
People who go out of their way to buy an Opeth CD on the first day it's in the shop and bringing opeth to a high place on billboard for instance which brings the band more recognition and even more sales in the next weeks.
These people should get a deluxe version for their money.

maybe the original press of GR is sold out now and thats why they're reissuing it?

nah, roadrunner did basically the same thing to Killswitch engage rereleased their entire catalogue...including their newest.

Ummm... Well, you could have a bad needle on your record player. OR you could have it set to play at the wrong speed.

THEN AGAIN, you could just be one of those hosers who have nothing better to do than troll forums and insult Opeth. If so, then all you need to do is: FUCK OFF.

I have Deliverance on vinyl and it still sounds like shit.
What am I doing wrong?

It's a picture disc, they all sound like shit. The background noise in all picture discs is much louder than on regular vinyls.

In addition to this the pressing quality of Deliverance vinyls isn't very good, by which I refer to the snaps, crackles and pops that are present on probably all copies of these vinyls.

This is quite a common problem nowadays. Record manufacturers don't seem to understand that some people actually listen to vinyls, and not just collect them.

But if you can forget the faults described above that are on the Deliverance picture discs, they do sound good.

Or maybe you just have a bad turntable (record player, if you insist).

¡Hello to everyone!

I didn't buy "Ghost Reveries" the day it was launched because I was waiting for the special edition... Ok, I'm still waiting. I'm a patient man, so the waiting is no problem for me, but if the re-release in 28th June is true, it's a great notice for me. And I hope it will have some good extra material too...

Opeth is one of my favourite bands, and I want to have "Ghost Reveries" as its best. Maybe some of you will not understand it, but it's my way of thinking. I have listened every Opeth album a hundred of times since "Ghost Reveries" was anounces, so I think I'm prepared to hear it yet...

Best wishes.

I wish I was doing what you are doing.

I took this decision the last summer, when I listened only one time The Grand Conjuration and Ghost of Perdition through Roadrunner, before "Ghost Reveries" was released. I was so amazed with both tracks... I feld that this album could be one of the most special albums of my life. And I want to taste as most as possible the moment of buying "Ghost Reveries" and hearing it for the first time.

This will possibly be one of the most happier days of my life... And I don't want to spoil this moment listening "Ghost Reveries" in the wrong way. I'm totally against piracy, I love buying original albums... So I want to buy "Ghost Reveries" as its best.

¡Best reagards!:)

i still havent purchased a hard copy of it yet either, as i was also waiting for the better edition. ive just been using the cardboard sleeve promo i had before its release if i ever want to listen to it. i cant imagine having gone this long without hearing it though, thats pretty impressive.

I think it just has bonus material, it's the same album with some extras.

Of course it's the same album... But it's supposed to be a hardback deluxe edition. Maybe a DVD will also be included... And maybe some insteressant extra material too. I hope some unreleased tracks, but it's difficult, I know... A live version of Soldier of Fortune and other Opeth's songs are surely to be released in this edition.

We'll see... But I'm still thinking the waiting will worth. And I love so much music apart of Opeth, so I can survive without hearing "Ghost Reveries" till the 28th of Juny.

I did the same thing with BWP, a mate that works for a porno mag gave me the promo he had been sent for review, so I didn't actually buy the album until the limited edition version was released.

A DVD would be great, but a DVD Audio version of the album would be fucking sweet on a re-release.

That would be really great, indeed... I prefer this rather than a concert, because we have "Lamemtations" yet.

Hearing "Ghost Reveries" in a 5.1 remix could be awesome, I suppose...
