Recabinet

what about the crunch and distortion knob? did you turn both down when you demo'd revalver and did the sound improve or did it totally mute it? you might want to check into that too....because as i said before mine mutes

Revalver shouldn't mute the sound if you do this. That is very strange, definitely not what was experienced in testing here.

I love the pictures in the manual espacially the guitar you choose! great.

Haha, thanks! I used to have a Bronze Series Warlock - years ago. Sounded awful but it was a fun guitar to use live and it looked translucent green under stage lights (it was supposed to be trans black.)

Some news:

  1. The aforementioned typo in the Revalver section of the manual has been fixed.
  2. While PayPal has been working great, there were some initial problems with 2Checkout orders, so we closed down our order links for that service for most of the day. The problem has been fixed, and 2Checkout orders are being processed properly now.

@KAzrog
what happens if I delete the files and want to download them again AFTER 72 hours?

:err:

Uhh.... why would you want to do that? In any case, I'm here to support you - within reason. If you provide me your receipt number (by replying to your receipt/download email) I can reset your download timer. I highly recommend anyone who purchases Recabinet to burn it to a CD-R and/or back it up to a USB stick or other form of storage immediately after purchase, just in case.

I, for one, just experienced the overall level to drop while turning down those knobs (which totally makes sense). But this can be easily compensated by simply turning up the output/normalizing it or turning up the master on the amp, which will - of course - sound different.

I have, however, experienced a few crashes of Revalver Mk III with the Recabinet demo, when I was trying to load an impulse while having the "high res" button turned off...

I asked Kazrog about this but he wasn't for sure on the answer.

I'm testing Recabinet out with Revalver Mk III

I read Kazrog's statement "Also make sure you are using a mono instance of Altiverb on a mono track (very important!) These impulses are of course, mono, since they are each based on a single mic."

I know he is talking about Altiverb but it got me to question the way I have things setup.

What I do is send both mono guitar tracks(im just doubling)to a Group stereo tracks and there is were i setup Revalver ,Eq, etc,......
I do this to keep a nice even guitar field and I know i should venture into slighty changing the tone from GTR L to GTR R to increase the stereo image of the gtr but i havent got there yet....lol

Revalver support's stereo processing, so i just make sure that its enabled .

Am I losing any quality this way ? or basically its the same as running 2 instances of the plug in on each mono track right?.....I find it a little difficult and distracting to mix one guitar at a time.

Now when you turn down the crunch and distortion it takes all sound away. So i don't know if mine is weird or what.....even when i turn the crunch and distortion the sound goes away and then comes right back....it's really annoying actually(nothing to do with Recabinet of course) Also whats SIR the impulse loader in Revalver is labled RIR.

Cool, sorry for such a long post just wanna sort a few things out.

Zombie: SIR was a typo, he meant RIR, as he stated already. As far as your sound completely cutting out with the dist/crunch knobs all the way down...very strange. I have RevMKIII full version and it doesn't do that at all, let alone with the Recab stuff. All it does for me is make the volume a lot lower, which is easily compensated. Mine also stutters a little (volume going in and out) when turning either knob though. But I thought was just a little bug in the program itself so I don't really care as long as it works when I get it set to where I want it, which it does.

Try re-installing the demo, or the full version, whichever you are using. I had some problems with MKIII (both live and VST in Cubase 4) crashing if I tried to load the Recabs, but I later found it did it with any of my impulses. Also, in Live it would crash if I tried to access the audio menu to change the input I'm using on my interface. Re-installing fixed it all.

just bought it) thanks Kazrog - i hope i helped you somehow)
going to check it out now

fucked a bit around with the stuff since buying it. I have to say not all cabs are usable for my stuff, but this I expected ;)
I wonder why the marshall 2x12 sounds heavier than the 4x12? the missing high end of most of the stuff (carvin has got plenty of it) is sth. major you (kazrog) should check, even before making the 1.1 free additional cabs. even with turning up the highs (3khz+) by 7(!)db's still lacks of high end. maybe you'll just need more presence in the poweramp, cause poidaobi once posted two versions of his engl pro cab, and the one with more presence was really better in therms of high end!
But I really LOVE the beefiness your mesa stuff! At the moment I combine the guitarhack for the high end and the recabinet mesa FTW.

yep man - and there's to much low end for my taste - but yeah - with GH impulses it adds a body...

Has it been addressed that the impulses overall are lacking high end frequencies? Is this going to be addressed in the future and corrected? Impulses that should be way too bright because of their mic position are still very dark and lacking a LOT of high end!

@Zombie - ReValver's sound will stop while you're tweaking certain knobs, but should come right back as soon as you stop. I think this probably has to do with your processor stuttering especially if your computer isn't very powerful.

The high end issue is being looked into. I very much appreciate you guys being early adopters of what is the beginning of a product line - and being understanding about known issues. Rest assured, there will not be any numbskull advice from us like (Sans Amp Bass Driver DI manual) "if you want more mids, turn down the bass and treble!"

Things will only get better...
