Reccommend some Black Metal?

Trelldom's "Til Et Annet.." is an excellent album IMO, if you can find it. Also check out Aura Noir(sort of black/thrash), of course the staples like Emperor and Darkthrone(try Wrath of the Tyrant and Blaze in the Northern Sky), and I always suggest Gorgoroth(anything, really.)

To the thread starter; here are some symphonic/synth-laden black metal recordings that I recommend:

Alghazanth - Osiris: Typhon Unmasked
And Oceans - The Symmetry Of I, The Circle Of O
Arcturus - Aspera Hiems Symfonia
Borknagar - Quintessence (not strictly black metal, but close enough)
Dimmu Borgir - Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia, Stormblåst
Emperor - In The Nightside Eclipse, Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk
Gehenna - First Spell EP, Seen Through The Veil Of Darkness (Second Spell)
Kvist - For Kunsten Maa Vi Evig Vike
Limbonic Art - Moon In The Scorpio
Obtained Enslavement - The Shepherd And The Hounds Of Hell
Old Man's Child - Revelation 666, Ill-Natured Spiritual Invasion
Ragnarok - Nattferd
Summoning - Dol Guldur
Svartahrid - As The Sunrise Flickers
Tartaros - The Grand Psychotic Castle
Tidfall - Circular Supremacy
Twin Obscenity - Where Light Touches None
Vesania - Firefrost Arcanum (you should really enjoy this one)

Emperor are one of my favorite bands, but they're hardly important to the black metal scene beyond being one of its best bands. I can't think of any bands they've influenced that don't suck.

Bands to try out
Borknagar-Folk influenced BM
Burzum-Powerfuly emotional stuff
Darkthrone-Essentail Raw BM
Dimmu Borgir-Essential Symphonic BM
Dissection-Melodic BM with some Gothenburg influence
Emperor-The best black metal band, plain and simple
Enslaved-Extreemly progressive BM, with lots of Viking influences
Graveland-Very good raw BM
Graveworm-Very good syphonic BM
Mayhem-Early stuff is excellent raw BM, newer stuff is pretty eperimental
Nargaroth-Very, very interesting band
Old Man's Child-Well you know already
Satyricon-Good syphonic stuff
Throns-Good avant-garde
Ulver-Excellent folk influenced BM
