Next week I'll be getting the new Iced Earth. I heard a couple of tracks already and am loving what I have heard. Stu Block does an excellent job on vocals and his ability to create great vocal melodies brings a great addition to the music. I seriously think its their best effort since Horror Show.

Yes, I'm totally ready for Dystopia! I agree that Stu does a good job, and everything else sounds great from what I've heard.

Redemption - This Mortal Coil
Opeth - Heritage
Pain of Salvation - Remedy Lane
Pain of Salvation - 12:5

Gentleman, I'm taking your advice and not listening to 12:5 until I'm totally familiar with the studio
versions that 12:5 contains. I want the whole experience. I tend to get into most things later than
sooner and I'm really enjoying my PoS enlightenment.

Heritage and This Mortal Coil are outstanding as well.

I'm seeing Opeth in 4 days!!!

I'm sure you're going to love Remedy Lane. 12:5 contains a lot of Entopia, so don't forget to pick that up! :)

Redemption - This Mortal Coil
Awesome, awesome record. This is giving Arch/Matheos a run for best progressive metal album of the year.

As for PoS, Remedy Lane is fantastic. Definitely my second favorite behind The Perfect Element.

Picked up Road Salt Two this week, but haven't listened to it yet. Hoping it's not the Reload to Road Salt One's Load.

I'm hesitant to pick up the new Redemption... I didn't really care for their 3rd album (the only one I own, and have heard). If this new one is as good as you guys are saying, I may check it out.

The new Haken is supposed to be amazing... I will def have to check that out.

ICS Vortex - Storm Seeker
Arch/Matheos - Sympathetic Resonance
Devin Townsend Project -Deconstruction
3 - The Ghost you Gave To Me

Uhm..I'm also considering getting Marillion's Marbles. Since I know people here like Marillion - should I bother to get the 2 CD version? I prefer brevity over filler.

Just picked it up today and I must say it's amazing! Also, getting the Deluxe Edition with the extra tracks is pretty much a must in the same vein as getting the double disc version of Iconoclast because it seems as if it is the "true" version. Not only are "Soylent Green" and "Iron Will" good tracks, but they are also placed before the true final track as if they were only cut from the regular version of the album due to the label wanting a more short and friendly version on the market. The third extra track is actually the very last track and comes after the closer; however, it is more of a real bonus track as it is only "Anthem" with some strings mixed in. I really could barely tell the difference between the versions as it is just the exact same song with barely noticeable strings in the background.

I really think its their best album in a very long time. I hated "Glorious Burden" and thought that there was something just off in the songwriting for "Something Wicked pt. 2" even though its sort of listenable. I actually kind of liked "Something Wicked pt. 2" as it felt as if the music was written in a more progressive/different style and at least fit the vocals of Tim Owens well. So basically it is their best since "Horror Show", except for me personally I may eventually come to like it more as I get more familiar with the songs.

On another note I also picked up the new Insomnium called "One for Sorrow". I didn't even know they had a new one coming out but just happened to come upon it.

I actually found the new Iced Earth to be rather average. I like the new vocalist better than Ripper (he'll never touch Barlow, though), but the songwriting sounds flat. It's just more of the same to my ears. If you've heard three Iced Earth songs, you've heard them all - the stereotypical ballad, the short and fast metal tune, and the epic tune. Speaking of epics, I was disappointed that this album contained none. I miss when they used to write songs like Travel in Stygian, Dante's Inferno, and Damien. I'm also sick of them writing about the same damn thing (that alien taking over earth) - we get it, already.

As far as the new album goes, I've only listened to it twice, but the only song that stuck out to me was the title track. It's a decent song.

I thought Glorious Burden was lame save for the Gettysburg tracks, and the most recent two concept albums were also subpar. I actually enjoyed the one with Ripper more than the one with Barlow - the songwriting just seemed better. The Clouding was an incredible track.

I still haven't listened to new Opeth and DT. I have the special editions sitting right in my room...

I've been too pleased with new Wolverine, and Magenta's Metamorphosis.

Beardfish's Mammoth was disappointing.
