ALways found reanimator to be a bit overrated amongst thrash circles. It's good, but a lot of people talk about them as if they were the best band in the UK. Which they weren't (Onslaught were :p)

Also, everyone listen to Carcass because they're amazing. Even if Jeff is a bit of a dick sometimes.

Really? I thought it were Xentrix..
ah okay Iam just a bloody german
To be honest I've never heard about them and just got into them thru coincidence on youtube.
Carcass are just awesome.. Heartwork and Necroticism are the best IMO.

Never understood how anybody can genuinely like Xentrix in the long run - they're cool at first, but grow real fucking thin very quickly for me.

Also, high five for Necroticism love, but some pantomime booing for Heartwork. It's good, but that's all it is - it's not the iconic masterpiece everyone makes it out to be. Necrotijizzm shits on it, as does Symphonies of Sickness.

Warning : If you don't like Dream Theater or it's musician's side projects, ignore this post.

Lately I've been getting into Dream Theater side projects/solo albums alot. Like OSI, original keyboardist Kevin Moore's band. It's some mainly keyboard-centric stuff, but it's really mesmerizing, just like the keyboard melodies he used to make while with DT. If I'm not mistaken, he also sings in this band as well.

(Except this song, it's Mikeal Akerfeldt)

Then there's James LaBrie's solo work. This may not be for everyone. There are definitely some Nu-Metal vibes going on on his first album, and some horridly placed metalcore screams on the second one, but I still like them. (Note, these are actually his third and fourth solo albums. The first two were under the name Mullmuzzler. Haven't heard any of that yet.)

And finally, Liquid Tension Experiment. It's basically Dream Theater, without a singer and a different bassist. Completely instrumental. The mood switches from Dream Theater sounding music on most songs, broken up by some really strange shorter songs. The last song from their first album "Three Minute Warning" is a 28 minute jam session that's kinda hard to digest. The other songs make up for it though.

you're right to some degree..I also like Symphonies of Sickness alot. I still think Necroticism stands over all and Heartwork was the album that got me into it.. They changed their style alot but it's still Carcass.

Yes there is, and metallica144 and I star in every single one of them. :p I could get you a spot in one of em if you want. You can be the guy who gets ass-fucked by a donkey. :p
