^Thanks. I just got Spirit by Eluveitie and it fucking kicks ass, is there any really good folk metal similar to that, or something like Agalloch or Tales From The Thousnad Lakes folk-ish oriented. Everybody talks about Fintroll but I can't seem to get into them.
That's because Fintroll Suck!

good list, but I consider Discharge and DRI to be hardcore punk (good bands though), and some of those I consider to be black/thrash.

the only additions I would've made to that list are Whiplash and Ulysses Siren. Great job, Impudent.

ohiogrinder - Somewhere Far Beyond or Imaginations From the Other Side are both good places to start with Blind Guardian

And thrashy death metal:

Massacra
Pestilence
Atheist
Asphyx
Blood Red Throne
Deathchain
Carnun Rising
Torchure
Final Breath
Deny the Urge (also kinda melodeath-ish at times, might be just what you're looking for)
Convulse
Malevolent Creation
Monstrosity
and many more

Classical reccomendations!!!

Right now I have Beethoven's 1st and 7th symphonies and have queued up his 2nd and 5th sympohonies.

And I also have queued Dvorak's ninth symphony.

What else should I get?

Also reccomend ambient besides Lustmord, Brian Eno, Raison D'etre...

Black/thrash is still thrash, and since the person asking said they were a fan of death and black metal, they should enjoy the more extreme side of thrash, as well.

also, as mentioned earlier, whats a good album by Blind Guardian to start off with?
"Follow the Blind" or "Battalions of Fear".

Holst - The Planets (specifically Mars)
Mussorgsky - Pictures at an Exhibition, Night on Bald Mountain
check out some of Charles Ives' atonal works
Stravinsky - Rite of Spring

erm...that's all I can think of off the top of my noggin right now

Does anyone have Gutworm - Ruin The Memory album? What You Are is a nice song. Tell me something about the album people.
