For Death:

Human vs. Individual Thought Patterns: which one is better?

For Dissection:

How is The Somberlain? What about Reinkaos?

For Bloodbath:

Where should I begin?
.

1. Human
2. The Somberlain is one of the greatest albums ever(same with storm of the lights bane). Reinkaos is great, still different and not classic like those two.
3. Resurrecting Through Carnage

the early death compared to the human album, is incredibly different! i think human gets more respecet because it has better production

omg im hearing cradle of filths cover of hallowed be thy name on the radio, they should be shot for destroying a classic....these guys arnt even music let alone trying to be black metal

Spiritual Healing and Human are my equal fave Death albums because they are both so different to each other. Human is amazing because of it's technicality and brilliant musicianship, and Spiritual Healing is awesome because of the tasty riffage and brutal heaviness.

In general:

What are some generally good death metal albums that I should check out?

If you could PM your recommendations to me, that would be much appreciated.

Death: On par imo, for different reasons. Both quality albums though. But I'd go with Leprosy over those two if you haven't heard any Death.

Re: Dissection: Go with the Greys on this.

Bloodbath: Aren't anything more than ok. I wouldn't start as there are many better albums out there in a similar vain, or perhaps I should say that Bloodbath try to emulate (Dismember, Entombed, Grave, God Macabre etc.)

Other recommendation: Miasma - Changes.

What the hell are you talking about?

I think it quite obvious

Ceremony of Opposites is better than 99% of black metal.

And of all black metal out there, from shitty bedroom black metal to overrated acts like BLut Aus Nord and Deathspell Omega to classic bands like Immortal and Darkthrone, 1% is actually quite a lot.

You're so wrong.

I need some melodic black metal or melodic darkened death metal metal with some keyboards, by keyboards I don't mean symphonic. I don't want clicky production either. Make sure it's something where I can find mp3s or cd so I can buy and listen to it in my room. thanks for anyone who helps.

Agreed. Comparing Dead Can Dance and Fields of the Nephilim is comparing two quite different things. Both are great bands, Fields have some quality material but I find a lot of their albums are inconsistent - containing exceptionally pants-jizzing awesome songs with ones that bore me.

A good article to find out more about similar bands and a lot of electronica is here. Click hardcore, then click EBM, and there is descriptions of different styles (industrial, industrial rock, EBM, electro industrial, futurepop, synthpop, goth, ethereal, darkwave, coldwave, experimental, darksynth - if any of these appeal to you, check the site for a list of bands and streaming samples). I've been told it's fairly accurate, so check it out. Edit: Except for the "insightful"-ly biased descriptions of genres at times, which is annoying. But listen to the tunes and get a feel for it.

pretty much all "dark" electronic music is fucking cheesy garbage imo.....except dubstep (specifically Burial) but that's a much more gritty and urban kind of darkness rather than the fantastical gothiness of the genres you mentioned.....imo :I

edit: i guess we can agree on ishkur being a dick though
