Demiurg - Breath of the Demiurg

and

My Lament - Beneath the Hidden

are both doomy and (on first couple of listens) appear to be fucking great.

I'm listening to Keen the Crow - Hypoborea.

It too, is really atmospheric. I'm drawn to comparisons to the better parts of High On Fire, elements of Anathema (circa the Silent Enigma) and Primordial (circa The Gathering Wilderness) - perhaps with a hint of Withered.

I hope atmospheric doesn't go the way of generic and be used as a descriptor every time someone mentions a band/album.

I'll start - where's a good place to start with Coroner? Highlight tracks?

No More Color - fast, liquid thrash with just hint of Euro deathiness.

Grin - Atmospheric mid-paced post-thrash.

Both excellent albums, but so completely different it's hard to believe the same three guys made them.

Start at the beginning. Always start at the beginning. This is with regards to both Coroner and Voivod.

"War And Pain" is probably the least good Voivod album and "R.I.P." is definetally the least good Coroner album.
As to where to start with these two bands, it depends on what someone is looking for. I'd suggest "Dimension Hatross" for Voivod and "No More Color" for Coroner, although these were my first encounters with these bands, so i can't tell if they will work for others the same way.
