And one important tip: Do not get drunk with your one of your teachers. There's nothing like getting told by your drunk teacher that a) you're purely technically talented and have no artistic talent whatsoever b) you will never get a job in the music biz c) in the end, you're just a pompous shithead Damn near punched the guy in the face, gladly the other students threw him out of the party before that.

If you're a good student and he's a good professor, don't worry about this. In fact, my favorite vodka came recommended by a professor that I've known since I started university studies... if there's anyone who needs to know vodka better than a divorced Russian mathematician, it's a married Russian mathematician.

Most music/audio engineering teachers teach because they would barely have enough for food if they only worked in a studio, so they teach instead of working in a boring office job because at least teaching has something to do with your passion.
