Deliverance.

What's so bad about that album? Everyone rips on it.

After Damnation, Deliverance is the ablum that got me into the heavyer side of Opeth (maybe that's why I like it so much...)...

Anyway, I might download the new album first, because if it's too Black Metal I probably won't like it.

Ouch. Deliverance isnt their best work but it certainly isnt that bad. I think we should ease up on the bashing.

I know Im paying for the new album, just like their entire catalog. Its important to show actual support. Praise on a forum doesnt help Opeth in any real sense.

EDIT: Dude beat me to the "ouch" :Spin:

What about By the Pain I See in Other's man???? Best track on the albim imo. Funny, actually. First it was A Fair Judgement then it went to Deliverance, then Master's Apprentices...and, as time went on and heard the album as much as i did now, By The Pain I See In Other's is hands-down the best track for me.

The last 4 minutes of the song are undescribably good. Starting at the acoustic part till the end of the song - arguably opeth's finest moment on the album. Fuck it's just THAT good.

* And yes, this is coming from someone who feels that Deliverance is opeth's most unimpressive album. Sounds harsh though, eh? I still give it like an 8.5/10.

BEST solos were definitely in the morningrise/orchid days. Twilight is My Robe or Black Rose Immortal - kick...ass. Or In The Mist She Was Standing - amazing song.
