Well, yeah. There is a lot of black metal that I find aurally offensive with acknowledgeable significance. Just looking at ANUS's Swedeath article/list, I can't imagine them being considered anything more than #12 out of 13. Cryptopsy, not so much.

Its one of the greatest black metal albums ever and its the only true successor to Transilvanian Hunger I have ever heard. Not a clone, but a true successor. An album full of emotional riffs that the musicians never seem to engage with. An album that exists somewhere in between life and death.

That´s quite a description. I wouldn´t even consider it one of the greatest US black metal albums, let alone "one of the greatest black metal albums ever and the only true successor to Transilvanian Hunger". However, since an Amon Amarth album has made it to the list, Genevieve has every right to be there
