I'm sitting here watching a bit of Inside Idol, and realised there hasn't been any discussion on it yet, so here is a thread.

Who do you think will go far, from early impressions? Ricki-Lee is my pick, she is one of the better singers, and is rather attractive.

Good to see Ngaire on the wildcard show too. She was another of the better singers, and it would be cool to have an aboriginal in the 12.

Don't get Channel 10, so badly want to see this series.

Is that fat guy with the girls name in the top 12?

I don't know if I'm going to watch it this Sunday night - most of the wildcarders don't deserve to be there. The judges pretty much said while they were deliberating that making money was more important than talent. I guess that's why Billie was overlooked for the likes of Tara, who is probably the worst singer in the top 30 this year. At least Gabriel didn't make it.

Yeah I agree about that, and it was stupid that Billie wasn't included when some of the others were, but in general I think it is a good group. Also, I think they wanted to pick a fair spread of people from each group of ten, when they probably shouldn't have, they should have just picked the best ten left over.

They picked a lot of guys, too - I think they're worried because so far there are 6 girls and 3 guys in the final bunch.

Another good point actually.

I don't think Dan should have made the 12, the other three guys in last weeks group were better. Apparently he is attractive, doesn't seem anything that special to me.

He's a churchy too, into that Hillsong rubbish and the like.

Ahh, that would get 100% of a minority group behind him then. I saw they mentioned on Inside Idol that he met his girlfriend at a church gathering, didn't know he was into that Hillsong stuff though.

I vote for Marty. I think they didn't pick Billie because they don't think she's versatile enough, and I agree. They're looking for a jazz singer as much as they're looking for someone who can sing power metal. Ngaire isn't Aboriginal. She's from New Guinea.

They could at least have put Billie into the wildcard round to see if she can sing something other than jazz. Idiots.

Yes, but if they did that, and it turned out that she couldn't, then someone else who could would have missed out.

BTW Spiff, weren't you going to audition, but were out of town or something? I heard the cut-off age is 27, so you would've missed out anyway.

Cut off is 28 - there's some guy who wants to sue them for discrimination because of it.

I've since realised that I wouldn't have a hope in hell of getting through, so I'm kinda glad I didn't audition.
