In this thread we discuss tasty, scrumptious falafel.

Had an amazing falafel pita for a late lunch (didn't take a pic, the above i just found googling). With tahini, hummus, diced up cucumbers and tomatos, and lettuce. Fuckin great. I think I like falafel almost as much as i like beef.

Max! falafel is one of my favorite foods ever... I had some pretty fucking great falafel in Israel and the hummus there was the best I've ever had ...who cares if it doesn't have meat if it's friggin delicious I will consume in mass quantities!

I as well have been to Israel and must concur with the above statements.

Anyone in the Philly area, go to Chickpeas on South St. Falafel is made fresh right then and there when you order. FUCKING AMAZING.

Depends on the kebab really. When I was briefly in Jordan I lived on lamb kebab, but its nothing like the kebab you can get here in the states. I've yet to find a place with decent lamb kebab here

The Druze and Bedouine make awesome kebab/lamb meat. They put in in a hole in the ground which they shut over it, and let it cook in smoke for 24 hours. It's fucking delicious.

i've found that a lot of places in the states instead of taking ground lamb mixed with spices and wrapping it around the metal skewer, they just take chunks of not the greatest lamb steak and skewer it. not nearly as good that way.

It's no surprise to me that Americans are having trouble with ethnic Cuisine. My mother's CHEF friend was shocked and awed when she told him that Kuskus is made of semolina instead of flour.

finally got a shwarma from the a-rab/persain/snake charmer place downtown. good, but the ones in Amsterdam were better!



and not just cause i was in Amsterdam, these guys didnt have the whole lamb meat rotating on the spit that they shave meat off dealy. i could probably find a legit place in sac though
