The Game Thread

Why don't you guys just do what I do and use that cheat editor thing where you give yourself a bunch of stuff? I made this huge pirate ship on the edge of an unintended waterfall after i loaded the ocean floor with 220 squares of dynamite.

Ensi and Eddy have my steam accounts, TF2 seemd to be a two week "lolImtired of WoW" thing, which has now moved onto Bully, and now im on Oblivion. Fucking took me 3 hours to install last night, with mods and updates >8(

I played Oblivion. Never did beat it, but I *almost* got to the top of the Dark Brotherhood. Geez, it's been years since I've played a video game. I miss video games, and there is a new Final Fantasy out now :(

(too big of a picture? fuck you get a bigger monitor)
Too boring of a picture...I don't get it, its just a room so what?

Exploration is one of my favourite parts, and finding rare minerals to make better homes is more of the fun with us. We have guys with fully automated farming.

Pretty much everyone agrees that FFXIII is bollocks though

I haven't played it myself, since squaresoft decided not to release it on a decent console. Also known as a pc.

Man, I wish the story in Portal 2 would last forever :(

So true. The voice-acting was a thing of beauty. The game could use an extra 50 or so hours of content :) The ending video was fucking epic though.

FF franchise has been dead for a while, cause Square is too afraid to do anything interesting (and potentially dangerous) to their main cash cow. Random side-projects from other dev. teams they publish are usually 1000 times better (like Last Remnant).

Yup. Ever since they decided to move to the playstation, there has never been a truly great final fantasy game. Inb4 someone inevitably mentions FFVII: it's bullshit, deal with it.

I wanted to play Last Story, but they are also afraid to pay a few hundred thousand dollars to get the thing translated and localised. Sucks.

My mining hub. Thought it would be cool to fix a "town" to the mountainside, worked pretty well

Some form of city we're making, built the skyscraper last night by myself. Oh the desert I had to demolish to get all that sandstone..

It is, but FFIX was great.

I finished IX for the second time at the beginning of this year and I gotta say I now think it is better than FFVII. Gameplay mechanics are practically still same, but I really liked the ability system and in FFIX it really matters what characters you use. I should get a grip of myself and start playing FFVIII again and start it over because I kinda have fucked up my first saved game and didn't have any patience on it. I've heard it's a decent game but nothing compared to other Final Fantasies. Also I need to get FFVI for PSOne in the future because I've heard it's simply the best Final Fantasy game ever.

FFVIII is the best of the "new" final fantasies that I've played. Which are FFVII, FFVIII, FFX and FFXII.

Still not in league with the snes era ones, however.

I never played FFIX and probably never will, the characters look too ridiculous, way past my ability of drowning my prejudices.

yeah, Final Fantasy is always the same played out plot line of good vigilantes vs. bad government- the battle systems are not always awesome, and the graphics tend to be a bit behind the times. guess playing Final Fantasy is a lot like watching a porn for the the plot line

I rather liked FFVIII. VII was fun. X is my favorite mostly because the sequel is so light-hearted and offers you a happy ending

I've "heard" the plotline to XIII- it's almost exactly a recycled plot from IV. The primary difference is that the princess is not such a princess.

That Lightning chic looks pretty cool tho.

Anyways, I'm fairly far out of the loop on games and movies and all sorts of cool stuff.
bookish nerd here

The earlier ones were less like that.

At least until FFVI showed up.

But then again, it is basically a steampunk videogame version of A Tale of Two Cities, so yeah.

I tried out the old ones after I finished 7 when it was totally new and omg but I never liked them. dunno, it's not that I dont like old games but I didnt like them after I was used to 7.

Here goes...

This is my mountain, that is my door.

On top of the mountain looking to the right.
That tower is new, so is most stuff near it.

On top of that tower, the island/building is new, if you look hard you can see my roommate hard at work on the new highway...other than the pyramids and the area around them, he did almost everything you see.

Still on that tower, that is his quarry he made...the lake there used to have islands, but he blew them up, and since water has flow when you destroy land next to it, there are multiple Death-cyclones in the water that will suck you down.

Here I am on top of the bigger pyramid...My friend did not lay torches under it as he built. Its at maximum capacity for monsters.
