The Gathering

(ok there not a lot of female vocals on that one) It would be much better if Anneke did it, because that Martine isn't a good singer at all. :puke: The male vocals are good though... sounds a bit like Pasi Koskinen of Amorphis :)

never heard that album, but isn't it a re- release and originally released before Anneke joined the band?

I think that's the way it was.

hehe 'Almost a Dance' has first been released in 1993 , but has been re-released has TG brought back their rights on it with their own label psychonaut records
At this time they had 2 singers , Martine Van Loon & Niels Duffhues.
Anneke joined TG in 1994 ( hopefully  )

cheers!

"Wow They could do 'Youre the one that I want' or 'Summer Nights' from Grease. That would be a belter"

I'd like to see em doing "save your love" by the fat greek bloke and his missus(renee and renata??)

would you be angry if ý said that ý think they are very bad in live shows?

I saw them just once, and they were just fine... unfortunatly it was during the HTMAP-tour... and I don't like that album very much...

Hey Lenore. thanks!

hehe no need to be angry...everyone feels the things his own way....
I agree on the fact TG on stage is no REAL show, as can be Within Temptation or others, but i m totally satisfied with the emotion coming out of them...I don t think they need more on stage then that ;)

Where have you been seeing them , by the way ?

I saw them last year together with Pale Forest in a damn small club. The sound sucked there, but the show itself was wonderful. IMO their stage presence couldn't be better...they don't behave like they're rockstars, or something, there seems to be no difference between them and their fans other than the fact that they're the ones playing. They got really chatty towards the end and returned to the stage after the last song to play another one. I hope I'll get the chance to see them again soon...

I think if they lost her there would be no more interest with this band.
I read an interview some time ago (I guess it was with the drummer) where he was asked what they'd do if Anneke left...he said that they would split up and start over with a new band.

I have just returned from Hungary, Pepsi Sziget festival. I went there only to see the Gathering and they were fucking great! Anneke was just wonderful, she has the best voice out there.
I just hope they will come there again next year. And Anathema also!

anathema the gathering katatonia = the holy 3

Well... the Gathering...
In a few words, my favorite band ever.
I discovered their music through "HTMAP" and after that i did a bit of searching on their history. Till today, always having a few hesitations though, i believe that's their best album.
"If_then_else" was an incredible surprise for me. I'm always a bit suspicious with the bands i really love, i don't know what to expect. That album definatelly paid me off!
Now, i'm positive that the Gathering can't let me down. I haven't heard "BLD" though (damn credit cards!!!), i'll just have to wait till it'll be properly released in the market.

I've seen them live just once, in the concert they gave here in Athens at 15/10/2000. It was an absolutely shocking experience for me. What could anyone say about the performance of this band? It's obvious that they respect their audience and they make that pretty clear. What can i say about Anneke's ethereal presence? I recall that night as a great celebration, full of magic and strong emotions..

And now, i'm so fucking dissapointed with the cancellation of their concert here in Greece
Anathema are my next fave band, so seeing them together in the same festival was like a dream coming true for me

A duet between Anneke and Vincent?? Just unbelievable!!! :headbang:
Why are you making fun of the idea Dunc??? :loco: :loco: :)
