maynard is maybe the most overrated vocalist in a LONGG time. hes one of the few i still have trouble swallowing. the mars volta guy never once occured to me as an aquired taste, the guy could sing like he should since day one. i wasnt comparing vocal styles...just the conflict of accessibility and hype between the two. its like if everyone praised thom yorke, but then bitched about steven wilson.

Maynard has a more ''disciplined'' vocal style i think...the guy from Mars Volta gets a bit over the top. Btw you are definetely not the only one who dislikes Maynard's voice.
