The most underestimated, unappreciated song from Opeth is.....

The Night and the Silent Water.

by far my all time favorite opeth song. the acoustic passages are absolutely divine, and the rest of the riffs are so full of gut-wrenching, tear-jerking romance and sorrow and love that i cant help but adore it.

too bad its production quality was so bad. even mikael admits that its one of opeth's best songs but it suffered during production. in addition, morningrise is a generally underrated album.

but if there is one song that i want opeth to record again, The Night and the Silent Water is it.

The fact that so many people have named "Dirge for November" goes to show that it really isn't underappreciated at all. I've actually seen a decent amount of praise for that song.

I'd probably choose something like "Karma" maybe, or "Under the Weeping moon."

right I agree. Dirge for November is officially OFF the underestimated, unappreciated list.

Seem to be the case!.. It's probably a song that people like, but there's always one song that they prefer that bit more.

+1 for Wreath

Also, every song on MAYH except for April Ethereal and Demon of the Fall. My favorite Opeth album these days ... (Not overall, just the one I've been digging most as of late, probably because I've worn out everything that came out after it...)
