i have never understood why some children who have the fortune to be born and grow in a bilingual family are not taught both language.
why parents are unwilling to do that? i've always wondered.

I'm not sure about such countries as Finland, but I think that one language is official and another one is useless.






... Or maybe... the more languages you learn the more mistakes you make.
Of course if you treat [f. ex.] Spanglish as mistake...

True! I've been very lucky to be bilingual, huge advantage. I guess that some families don't see it as necessary, who knows.

Maybe, if you also have a degree in mathematics and astrophysics.

I suspect that Swedish is just one of Norwegian's dialects...

Hmm no, if I'm not mistaken it's actually the other way round.
