The New album is called Watershed : Out June 2nd

we are all entitled to our own opinion but all im saying is that this album will probably be the farthest thing away from orchid that they've ever done.

and what made you decide to join the forum after years and years of dissapointed opeth releases, still life came out in 99 and you joined in 2006? not trying to sound like a prick, just wondering actually. off topic question, i know.

Don't jump to the conclusion, did i state anywhere the opeth releases where dissapointing? No, See, people in this forum, a bung of twat toss pots, mainly kids who live in this forum. In my pervious post i meant to say the fisrt 4 albums not three, hence this inculdes Still Life.

Did you read anywhere that the upcomming album is "the farthest thing away from orchid" or is it that youre just guessing?

The reason why i joined this forum was to find and discuss more "old style" opeth fans but i must say i failed to find some.

All the song-names are awesome! I dig them, and the albumtitle, "Watershed", I mean, oh my godness! What will the cover look like? :D I'm looking very murch forward to it! :D

Sorry, but I do wish you luck in your quest to find the forum for disgruntled old guys that say everyone else who isn't stuck in the past is a nerdy little kid and blow up in e-rage when others aren't kvlt enough. ********* just might be able to help you out.

EDIT: lawl the fact that's a word filter makes me so happy

people are allowed to prefer the older albums ... I'm sure there are more people like that on this forum. Just don't keep your hopes up for a return to that style.
and not everyone who likes the albums after still life more is some kid. Although pretty sure there are a bunch of them on here :) but seems to me that people posting the most are not kids anymore. not that many 40+ though I guess.
btw, even kids can prefer the older albums ... age has nothing to do with this! it's just matter of taste.

but just so you know, it's been stated now by everyone who has heard (or even made) the album that it is again very different ... and it has always been like that with every album.

There's plenty of evidence from Mike (and others) that this album will not have much in common with the first 4 albums.

I don't see why you guys are bitchin' at eachother..

If person 1 wants the album to be like Orchid.. Let him want that..
If person 2 wants it to be completly different.. Fine with me..

All I'm saying, just stop talking that crap.. The album has already been made.. And there's no way to change that.

Oh yes...why did no one think of this before?! As ever dying said, end of. I don't care what it does and doesn't sound like, as long as it rocks my boat just like 98% of Opeth material written, old and new. And I have complete faith. I'm really interestd in hearing their version of Would? though. How are they gunna Opethise it? :u-huh: This is gunna be a looong wait.

Though I'd just like to point out that one reason some people don't join until years later as in my case, is that there's hardly much left to say unless you stay in the current. The Opeth rooms on UM have been around a loooooooong time, 500+ pages. And I hate repeating what others have said. And people tend to think that if you haven't been a member for a while or if your post count isn't as high as the sky then what you say matters little. And that can be annoying too.

And just because I don't want to restart an old topic, I'll add this in here: I got my boyfriend into Opeth, wOot!

Yeah...."Into the flood again...same ol' trip it was back then".....thats a tough vocal line to deliver.....plus I wasnt aware mike had such range...it will be fun to listen to...cant wait....PEAC EOUT

anyone else notice how 'alice in chains - all' has been on Mendez's playlist since the fall? maybe it was his choice to do Would?. not that it matters, just wondering.

obviosuly i havent heard the album yet but from all those who have heard it, including that one guy named mikael akerfeldt, this album has been described as something completley new and fresh, not "a progessive album that goes hand in hand with orchid/morningrise, fans of these 2 albums will love watershed."

I really don't care much about what direction they go in as long as the bass is rockin' and the melodies are cool. I like too many different genre's to be swayed by a band switching directions.
