The recommendation thread.

WEG is indeed a really good band.... a friend recommended to me... along with Worlds End boyfriend.... side project..

i think i've downloaded the project.. but haven't listened to it yet..... ( gotta find it among the recieved files... oh.. the mess.. )

oh I never heard of World's End Boyfriend o_O lol
but I gotta try it :kickass:

Have you heard In the Woods...

Amazing band (RIP) especially HEart of the Ages and Omino. Similar to PT in attitude or ambition, not do much aesthetics or style. They're an experimental, avante-garde, post-black Metal experience that draws influences from across the board and have a sound all their own.

i'd recommend Dornenreich - Durch Den Traum for the likes of eerie music (hints of classical/acoustic guitar a la Empyrium crossed with early Ulver buzzing guitars)

@Sadguru:
is the new Elend album that good? i was never a fan, but i heard from lots of people its really a good one.

All the fans of DREDG gather here:

today i was on the #post-rock channel at Soulseek and some guy there spammed this adress:

[xghoulx] http://lollapalooza.mp3.com/feature/2007lollapalooza/?band=VALE-OC
[xghoulx] check us out

i clicked on it.. expecting some postrock band and stuff... and for my surprise i've found a band highly influenced by goth/post-punk bands as the cure and joy division, but that sounds a lot like DREDG and sometimes Placebo...

as i told him that they reminded me of Dredg he said he gets that all the time, but that he didn't even know the band.. told him to check 'em out..

they're in California and have their cd going for $5 .. but i downloaded the release from the guy himself ... if like me, you do like what you experience at myspace and wanna check their just add/send a msg at Soulseek to xghoulx or to me " FatefuL " ( note that slsk users are case sensitive.. so you gotta TyPe iT aS WrITtEN HeRe. )

One of my friends gave me the new Manson cd yesterday.and when I listened to it,I couldn't believe it was M.M cos it was so damn good. There's no bad song in the album not a single one.And no ridicilous Manson songs at all. I was very surprised and I am addicted to the record currently.I recommend it strongly...

I recommend mechanical animals if you think that's strong. Heart shaped glasses, and if i was your vampire are not good songs. He truly has become a parody of himself. Lyrics are horrible, but some good songs like evidence, and a car crash away.

I have benifited a great deal from the music recommendations of others
and I thought I in return could share some of my most favoured bands
of recent months.

Everyone of these bands deserve to be checked out at least ONCE.

If you have time to write another blog about how bored you are
or upload a new myspace photo from a slightly different angle
then time will no doubt afford you a moment or two to interrogate
some great music.

eye out for them between Chris Broderick and Dan Swano

Sorry to take up soo much space :erk:

For those of you who like harder metal ie Soilwork/Meshuggah etc, I've been watching this band progress for quite awhile now, and the end result is pretty damn good:

And a bit more in the Kata vein, but with more estrogen:

They need to polish up a bit and probably add a second guitarist, but worth a listen.
