The School/Uni Thread

Yeah, of course, because I have no frame of reference for this after talking to guidance counselors and friends and family members who have actually been in the situation. I'm totally in the dark.

Besides, like I said, I will most likely get a job at a publishing company or something, IE A JOB RELATED TO MY FIELD.

Fuck You Die In A Fire In Real Life? Nice.

A couple years ago someone on another forum's wife or something actually did die in a fire, so the entire forum stopped using DIAF and instead used DIAKSA.

....which means Die In A Killer Squid Attack. So far that hasn't happened in real life...unless you're a sperm whale.

Ozzman, did you not see the examples posted? My dad majored in History and is the marketing director at a famous University Press. His boss majored in classics. Necuratul is right, especially in the field he wants to pursue.

Well I was given a week to read Homer's Iliad and this book fucking rocks. I'm definitely going for a Classics certification to tack onto my Latin teaching career. I'm 300 pages in btw.

I actually started to read that right before school started up, but now I have no time. Actually I have to read about the first third of Oliver Twist for Monday, among a few other reading assignments...this is going to be an intense semester as far as sheer amount of reading goes.

Yeah, my semester curriculum for this honors course is undoubtedly gargantuan:

Homer's Iliad
The Books of Genesis and Exodus
Fragments of Sappho
Plato's Republic
Plato's Symposium
Dao De Jing: The Book of the Way
The Basic Works of Aristotle
Virgil's Aeneid

All in one semester. I'm in heaven...

Oedipus Rex is great.

T-REX is even better!!!
