Just registered. Got into all of them!

This is also my senior year for undergrad. At this point I am not too sure how I feel about the prospect of entering the 'real world'--if university has taught me anything, it is that the real world is quite a shitty place--but I am looking forward to taking a break from the super concentrated life of undergraduate study.

My degree is in Communication Studies and Film Studies, so I don't know exactly where it will lead me (I have been interested in the videogame industry, journalism, film, publishing [I work as a writing tutor part time currently], marketing and advertising so there is a lot of directions I could head in).

My current course load is this, btw:

Alternative (i.e. Autonomous) Media
Brecht, Godard...Hollywood?
Autobiography in Text and Film
Digital Media and Culture
Advertising as Social Communication

Today is a very good day.

I just dropped my Secondary Education major and declared a History major to accompany my current Latin major.

WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO

First year business at the University of Calgary. Word of advice: never go to uni in your hometown. I had more fun over the two weekends I visited my friends in residence at the University of Alberta than I've had all year here. It's essentially high school, but the classes are more difficult, it's an hour commute each way, and none of my friends are there. Thank god I'm transferring to U of A next year, and switching my major to political science. I'll take writing papers over statistical equations and balance sheets any day, which is probably one of the reasons I started writing for this site.

Man I fucking hate WebCT, especially these 'online quizzes'. To make a long story short the assessment program in WebCT decided that despite me answering all the questions in the quiz, to magically say that I didn't answer any (giving me a 0/10 in the process). All because I didn't 'save' my answers (they are on screen, why do I have to 'save' any of them in the first place?).

God damn useless technology [/rant]
