The School/Uni Thread

I can not wait to attend college and take classes like those that have actual substance. High School has the worst classes and fails to properly teach history in any detail or with any passion. Hopefully, Sarah Lawrence will offer something like that if I go there. Looks like I will be applying to Sarah Lawrence, New York University, Northwestern, Loyola Chicago, and Marquette. There will obviously be a bit more but I am not sure yet what other schools have something to offer to me.

If you take the right classes in high school you'll learn a lot, for example taking college level courses and the hardest type classes available, I did it and it certainly paid off.

Do any of you know if you can doubleminor in a subject? I'm already getting my Business Management minor but I have some hours open and I'm thiking about also minoring in Spanish. Better to further my education and get 2 minors than be lazy, take easy classes, and wish what I could've done I say.

I have no idea what I'm taking next semester because I applied to grad school and don't find out if I'm in or not until summer.

buncha bullshit

I'm considering getting a Master's degree after my Senior year's over but I fear I may not have the money for it.

Wait, you are not going for any Master's degree right now? Your really fucked when you enter the actual working world, right? I understand if you are having money issues that you might now be able to pay for it so don't write this off as me being an asshole, but did you know that you might not be able to get a proper degree coming into college?

Christ, you are dumb

I am just pointing out the issue here. I understand where he is coming from on money issues and I think it is really lame that nothing is being done to help him or others in his situation. Not making fun of him and not being pretentious. Don't get all burly on me, guys.

Plus, my grammar is getting better.

you can get a perfectly fine job without a master's degree, alter...you can get a perfectly fine job with NO college degree. Being a longshoreman pays up to six figures and you get into one of the best (most rigged) unions in the country. Tug boat drivers can make up to $200K a year. It all really depends on what you want to do.

I am remarking on how he barks dumb fucking shit EVERYWHERE. He's pathetic and I will leave the Ozzman debate at that.

I am glad you know how to quote small grammar mistakes and create a cute display on how I suck at grammar. Really, it makes me learn it better. Seriously. So I take your point there but I still don't see how my comment to Derek was dumb beyond that way of looking at it.

@Unknown, if he is going to Business than is going to compete with other people who may have gotten more degrees or whatnot, right? I am sure that he is not aiming to be a tugboat driver or anything similar. I should have phrased my wording better, but I meant to stick on the fact that he is entering business and that working class.

If I am wrong, simply tell me and don't bark like Ozzman does.

You can be successful enough without a Master's degree. If your goal is to climb the corporate ladder, then a Master's degree is recommended, but certainly not required. Sometimes all you need is a bachelor's degree, experience and certifications for a certain field (like EA for actuaries, for example). You don't need to have a higher education to be successful
