You a Beastwars fan at all?

Yeah, I tend to have the best time at anything remotely stoner/doom related (well, Neurosis was underwhelming in 2017). I've seen Beastwars 11 times, but only in Auckland and they're from Wellington. Possibly the best band that can fill a mid-sized venue to capacity here, although non-metal band Wax Chattels is a favourite as well. Can't make it to any upcoming Beastwars shows even though I'm temporarily moving down that way. Gonna be in Melbourne the wrong week.

Been replaying Thief 1 lately. Top 5 things that add replayability:

1. some of the best fucking level design in history
2. fan mod with HD textures
3. well-written flavor text that adds tons of side stories / vignettes
4. hypnotic ambient sound
5. I perversely wish the Trickster were real

Top 5 missions:

1. The Sword
2. Down in the Bonehoard
3. Break from Cragscleft Prison
4. Return to the Cathedral
5. Assassins

Top 5 hiding places:

1. rafters
2. shadows that miraculously occur in a zigzag path leading safely across the room
3. up a rope arrow (enemy can't grab it so they stand under you like an idiot)
4. long spiral stairs (enemy gives up searching halfway down)
5. plain sight, after shooting water arrows at all the torches

5) The Will to Kill

#5 could change depending on the day, but it was solid on revisit today. One of the more underrated death metal bands.

One of a handful of bands where I go full in crowd and say their first X albums are their best ones but I haven't heard anything from this band that is less than decent.

I mean, I'm really out crowd for thinking their first two albums are the two best death metal albums ever released so it's whatever. Stillborn is great though so that's a good choice. I don't argue if someone has one of the first 4 as their best tbh.

I guess that's true.

When I first got into death metal everybody was obsessed with them over here, not sure when (or if) that changed, but I do see them praised a lot less nowadays.
