Ok, well as many people know Katatonia has had a profound impact on certain bands. I'm trying to list all the bands with the katatonia sound in them (from subtle to complete ripoff, but it has to be worth mentioning) i have

1) Katatonia (no shit!)
2) October tide (2/3 katatonia aint bad)
3) Rapture (rip offs or not, these guys make great songs)
4) Daylight Dies (amazing as well, very BMD-ish but more complex)
5) Agalloch (at least "pale folklore" had a lot of katatonia influence, "the mantle" hardly has any)
6) Forgotten Tomb (very cold band with vocals like burzum, some kvlt BM sound in the mix, but most of the guitar riffs are totally BMD)
7) Dark Suns (maybe not so much katatonic, more opeth and other doom but just a bit of katatonia too)
8) The Old Dead Tree (Definetly some newer kataonia sound mixed with a lot of other stuff)
9) Novembre (not an expert on these guys, I have the last one and where it's good I dont think anything is too memorable i can hear katatonia influence though)

I think i've exhausted myself, anyone care to add anything?

SUN OF THE SLEEPLESS (on the new MCD - split with NACHTMAHR) - with harsh vocals.
PARAGON OF BEAUTY "Comfort me infinity" CD (RIP)
AUTUMNBLAZE "Bleak" CD
THE VISION BLEAK "Songs of good taste" CD
BLAZING ETERNITY "A world to drown in" CD

All of this stuff you will get at www.prophecy.cd (Prophecy Productions)

Bloodbath has Anders and Jonas in it, but it's more brutal in terms of the atmosphere.

 What's up with this? I can't find any info on it -- when is it out? SoTS are... excellent.

SOTS/NACHTMAHR split MCD will be out on Prophecy Prod. (http://prophecy.cd) in a next couple of weeks in limited edition 1000 handnumbered copies as far as I am concerned. NACHTMAHR is very similar to old SOTS, new SOTS sounds like a mix of Katatonia, black metal and some trip sounds here and there, this will also contain "Dunkelheit" cover song. Etc.

-October falls can also remind of Katatonia first period (event though they're closer from Opeth in fact)
- Rainpaint from Finland (debut album to come)
I guess these bands are both on mp3.com

The first Blazing Eternity CD "Of Times and Unknown Waters" also has a Katatonia-vibe. "A World to drown in" isn't out yet, but will be soon. It's pretty cool.

The Loveless should also be mentioned...

Thine remind me of Anathema far more than they do Katatonia, but I guess they all fit in the same category. If you're going to go there, I would also suggest Lacrimas Profundere.

Novembre, I don't hear any Katatonia influence at all. Instead, they remind me heavily of Opeth, but they are much better than Opeth is currently, but not as good as Opeth on their first three albums.

What about listing Bands, that influenced Katatonia?

You can ignore it or not, but I hear a lot of IRON MAIDEN in the old katatonia sound (guitars!!!). For example, the middle part of "brave", does not only sound like "Phantom pf the opera", it just is it! Or listen to "dance of december souls". A couple of leads and melodies are influenced by the classical metal style, just played a little bit slower!
I love it! You also hear Black Sabbath, but tell me a doom band, where you don't hear them...

"Dance..." also has the spirit of good old Tiamat (Astral sleep), don't you think?

Later they wanted to be more straight and plausible, sound like bands of the paradise lost kind and soon became the best band in this genre ( LFDGD; can you call it Gothic?, i don,t like this word...). Hm, and now bands like Tool, some Nu Metal BAnds and bit Porcupine Tree also exist in the melange of the katatonia sound...which makes VE, so far the album of the year for me in the metal scene (along with the 2 Opeth masterpieces...).

The Old Dead Tree sounds really good, I heard the new Cd, unfortunately I missed them live.A band to check out!
I also heard a lot about Paragon of Beauty, but still haven't heard anything from them...
