Uncontroversial opinions on metal

Hell Awaits was originally a Christmas record, as the rare bootleg scrap of lyrics, "With the High Santa awaiting, candy cane in hand, spilling the pure cranberry sauce" proves, but was turned into the Satanic glam metal opus we know today after Hanneman decided to prove to his mom that it, quote, "wasn't a phase."

Cannibal Corpse is actually good

Tool is not metal and sucks ass

Filosofem is the ultimate black metal album

Nu metal sucks

SOAD and Disturbed are not nu metal

Thrash metal died in the 90s

(None of these are true)

Your bullet belt takes less bullets if you're a vegan, obviously.

I also thought it was kind of funny he was asking if Dream Death was a christian band a while ago like it detracted from them in some way.

I must also state that The Who is not metal. They are technically metal but the consensus says otherwise.

Melissa and Don't Break the Oath are both so fucking brilliant and perfect. I got into Mercyful Fate relatively late compared to most of the other big names, but those two albums have done nothing but grow. Most prog metal bands wish they had songwriting that involved, let alone their contemporaries in trad metal. Even stuff like classic Maiden and Priest I've begun to see some of the relative weak points, but those two seem bulletproof. I think I prefer Melissa for its higher consistency both in writing and in tone/mood, and because it has the single greatest collection of riffs, Satan's Fall, of basically any song, but Don't Break the Oath has sharper left turns and probably more 10/10 songs.

Support, although they were one of the first heavy metal bands that I got into after the famous ones. I'd pick Melissa because I got that album first, but I think that both are pretty much perfect albums.
