Well here we go, let me here all your underrated bands and reasons behind your thoughts, as for me this is what i think,

Sodom, Thrash metal band that gets no mention and i belive should be in the ranks of slayer. look into it, its good shit.

Soulfly, yes yes yes, the first album blew horribly, the 2nd album has some fucking badass songs like back to the primitive, pain, jumpdafuckup, look into this if you havent already, max calvalera's band, good vocs indeed.

Primus, man this band is fucking awesome. I hear little about them and nothing good about them. Come on you got to love that fucking crazy off the wall guitar and bass shit they do, and then they break into the heavy riffs, love it.

Well there is a few from me, thats what i think, maybe im an idiot but thats my oppinion on it, appreciated as always,

Slayer

Saint was/is the best metal band that no one has ever heard of. Bar none. Bush on vocals. Joey Vera on bass. Gonzo on drums. The late Dave Prichard on guitars. And Phil Sandoval & Jeff Duncan on guitars.

Check out "Symbol of Salvation", "Delirious Nomad" or "Revelation" and you will see what I'm talking about.

It still annoys me that Saint's SOS came out in '91 and so did Metallica's Black album, and that Metallica sold a bunch and Saint sold so few. Listen to both and tell me which one is better---let me clue you in, it's not Metallicrap.

That Black album made me, Vomit, want to puke!!:puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

"Can't we all just get along"

"NO!"
-The Rest of the World, 1992

oh yeah, iced earth are underrated as hell, man i tell you some of the shit on disc blows, but if you saw these guys live, im telling you, youd be fucking hooked i loved it.

Obituary is underrated as well, come on these guys had a hilarious video for dont care, ha kids jumping around in toxic sludge and he blares out I DONT CARE. funny indeed. Untill about 4 weeks ago i had heard nothing about obituary and i had been listening to death/black metal quite frequently for the last 2 months, delving into the depths of bands as Opeth, Borknagar, Nile, Cannibal Corpse, Venom, etc etc etc. and just recently i heard of obituary. These guys rule, pay reverence and listen to them.

Slayer

Forbidden. They were the best thrash band ever, yet they get very little mention (except by me, I talk about them all the time). Listen to "Twisted Into Form" to be blown away.

Watchtower. I had never even heard of them until 10 years after their last CD (now they are making a new one, yay!!). The founders of technical metal; damn that's some awesome music.

Ok, Metal church should have been as big as Metallica
Sacred Reich should have took off after The American Way album.
Only Living Witness released a great debut then disappeared.
Overkill deserve to be massive
KREATOR the new album is the best thrash album released this century.
finally ACID BATH!!!! twisted lyrics twisted riffs if you buy only three albums this year make two of them when the kite string pops and paegan terrorism tactics, awesome, go on, make your ears bleed.

Hi!

I think the situation in Europe is different because Iced Earth, Sodom, Kreator and Soulfly are very successful in Europe.

Sodom and Kreator are big in their country Germany.
Soulfly played some big festivals in Europe. I saw 'em live last year in my country with Judas Priest, Motörhead, Biohazard, Holy Moses, Sick Of It All and many others.

I saw Iced Earth live 1 month ago and they kicked ass even they had problems because some crew members got arrested before the show.

The most underrated band in my opinion is:

P I M P S H I T K I D

NOT!!!

The Forgotten Bands are:

Tourniquet: Check out "Microscopic View of a Telescopic Realm" Great thrash-band, very talented musicians, superb drummer, good songs

Hades: Check out "The Downside" and "Damnation"
Progressive Thrash, Alan Tecchio is a highly underrated vocalist

Armored Saint: Listen to "Delirious Nomad" "Symbol Of Salvation" and "Revelation"

Metal Church: Check out "Metal Church"

Man I got a list I don't know if I will get to them all though. Have a go at some of them...

OVERKILL!! Man they kick ass. They are true to life and do what they want.
Amorphis, This band has came so far. It was awesome to watch them grow to where they are now. Go buy the disc Tounella. I give it a money back guarantee;)
Helloween, still around and still making great power metal
Misfits: the last two studio albums as good as anything they ever put out!
Sanctuary, produced by Dave Mustaine back in the day...rule
Lost Horizion AWESOME vocals from this new band!!!!!!!!!
Puya, why this band is not on top of the nu-metal heap is beyond me I guess they they have too much of an original sound...
And even though they are not "metal", The Mighty Mighty Bosstones kick ass, they have never wrote a bad song. They came close to the big time but the sheeple quickly tossed them to the side.

Most of the shit I download could come under this....

Burzum - only one of my friends has heard the majesty of Varg. Whenever I mention 'em on a BB the majority of responses are comprised of "racist shit!!!" and other such ignorant generalisations  come on, dudes, musically this shit really rules! Really damn raw, great riffs. The textures on Filosofem are beaut. The synthised albums are really soothing to listen to, as well.

Gehennah - really funny drunken black metal. First and third albums are cool, the second blows. Delivered classics such as Piss Off I'm Drinking, Psycho Slut, I Fucked Your Mum and Beat That Poser Down! :D

Judas Iscariot - Same vein as Burzum, I'd say. Don't like 'em as much, but I'm disturbed that nobody else seems to know 'em.

Kristallnacht - Song names that sound cool rolled off the tongue, and synths you can watch Disney to. Musically null in every other way though.

Nifelheim - some very fucking good, very fucking heavy black metal.

Finally, I don't think enough people apppreciate the genius of Nobuo Uematsu with the music he puts into Final Fantasy games, especially 7 ;)

Check out:
-The Wildhearts- "Earth vs. the wildhearts"- the songs of Cheap Trick with the riffing of a metal band. Anything this band does rules!
-The Yo-Yo's- "uppers and downers"- (only album out on Sub Pop) the clash meet the ramones
-Lostprophets-"Fake sound of progress"- Incubus meets Faith No More, great live band
-3 Colours Red-"Pure"- punk/metal/pop, great songs
-Hundred Reasons-up and coming, sound like At the drive in without the bullshit

I think metal in general is way underrated by radio. Let's face it, there aren't many metal stations out there. If you live in a bigger city, the chances are greater but slim nonetheless. Here in northern Michigan, we don't have those really big cities so all we have for radio around here is country and that dance shit.

UNDERDOGS!!!!!

bosstones , primus , rollins all great bands all underated but all have a loyal fane base so they can keep playing and recording . heres some of mine :

Thraxman: the original Alice Cooper Group (before he went solo in 1975) is every bit the songwriting machine that Black Sabbath was. People tend to forget that the Alice Cooper Group was the biggest draw in America from 71-73. Out selling even the mighty Led Zeppelin. BUT, I think your argument is moot, because those classic hits of Alice's are still played on AOR stations daily. But, you're right, he doesn't get the respect he deserves, of course he doesn't have Sharon coming up with ways to make him look cool with every passing trend. BTW, Alices' wife is hotter and nicer than Sharon.

Anyway, I'd say the most underrated groups of the 90's were Faith No More and Life of Agony. There you have it.

- Exodus - IMO they were just as imporntant as the rest of the "Big 4"
- Testament - never put out a bad album IMO, Chuck has one of the most versitile metal voices ever.
- Sacred Reich - I allways liked em, never understood why they never had more success.
