Anyway, EA Sports NHL 2008 is really good although the same sports-game limitations apply (as they always will) in that, in order to beat you, the computer has to cheat a little.

I picked up Halo 3 the other day instead of Bioshock. The latter looked really cool but I'm familiar with the former so....
I've yet to open it, btw. Maybe I should go play it now instead of browsing the HD Porn thread

The Wii is really just a novelty. I don't think it is that great. Sure they have a few great games, but that about it. The motion control shit just get annoying after a while. A friend of mine bought a Wii and for the first few weeks we thought it was amazing, but once the gimmick wore off, we were left with very little actual gaming substance. The Wii is the casual gamers console. It is the console to whip out when you have people and/or non-gaming friends over. It is Nintendo reaching the largest possible market while neglecting the die-hard gamer. The system itself is actually very weak. I have seen articles by game developers voicing their frustration at the extreme limitations of the Wii.

Hahahaha yeah, it's so true. I got it a week or so ago so I'm still in that initial stage. I know it's a very weak system compared to the other new ones, I've heard that its really not even much more powerful than a Gamecube. Ohhhhh well, if I get sick of it then that's exactly why I have my 360.

Gamecube was a really underrated system. I enjoyed it immensely, especially with the Resident Evil remake. I had to move on only when they decided to stop making new games.

Just got my new computer setup and running. Still have about 10 million programs to download and install, probably some missing codecs, gotta get the email all working, etc. But I downloaded Warhammer Mark of Chaos and Supreme Commander last night, we'll see how that goes. Looking forward to catching up on a years worth of missed games.

Having some problems atm, theres a know problem with this motherboard and multi-rail Power Supplies, so I may have to go get a new PS if I can't get it working (I have a list of shit to try).

My goal is to overclock the Proc to at least 3.4 for Supreme Commander. Then I can kick your lagging ass

I was going to get a processor like yours but they weren't in stock so I said fuck it, I'll take a step down and have eight pizzas with beer tonight.
So far the 500W PS works just fine and I think it'll last too. Every game I've tried so far runs like a dream too, very nice. I'd like one more IDE slot though as I have a DVD and a cd burner separately, and squeezing in more old HDDs is always fun.

Half-Life 2: Episode 2 is a LOT better than Episode 1. I haven't gotten around to playing Portal yet though.
