What is the worst metal album of all time?

No, just 'cuz of Black Dragon.

And the lyrics...

But anyways, when talking about the worst metal album of all time, it makes more sense to name the most disappointing albums, since world is so full of incredible shit, it's very hard to say what's the worst of it all. I mean, that St. Anger is obviously awful, but if you compare it some random bedroom blackmetal "artist", it's surely better, but compared to what you'd expect from a band that's classic, it's not.

Right now I can't think of anything I'd name the worst shit I've ever heard, or the most disappointing either, but maybe I can think of something later.

EDIT: Well not probably the most disappointing, but at least Catamenia's two latest albums gave me a "what fuck is this fucking shit"-impression.

^ wat

Also choosing St. Anger is cliche tbh... it actually has a few good songs. Anybody saying the title track in particular, has "bad riffs", needs to get some ears.

I have ears thank you. Two of them to be exact. I also have something called individual perspective.

And cliché? If thats how one feels then thats just the person opinion. Its doesnt matter if millions have said it before. Should I not mention St Anger because others have done so before me?

No, you should not mention St. Anger because your claim that the entire album lacks good riffs is fucking wrong. I thought this was implied.

What happened to subjectivity? I find nothing on St Anger really worth any attention at all. Nothing is great and nothing even good. And that is my opinion. Some stuff is average but it gets dragged down because of the shit that surrounds it.

See individual subjective opinion. There are no rights and wrongs here.

I missed this post the first time around but it echoes my sentiments exactly. To name the actual worst metal album would be very hard and Im guessing most of the examples in this thread are in the "most dissapointing" category. They may be awful but as you said there is surely something way worse out there.

I was going to disagree and say that their album was pretty solid-if-typical early 90's groove stuffs, but listening to a couple of songs again it's a lot worse than I remember. Still better most of the albums mentioned here.

EDIT: Funny how three Calavera-fronted albums have been mentioned so far. He is kind of worthless, come to think of it.

Good to see Carcassian posting again, top man. :)

I'd agree with Roots and St Anger.
Reinkaos is far from the worst album ever though, I fucking love it, it's a great album to have a few beers to when you need to paint the dining room as I found out the other week.
